we were just down in Denver..went to SIX FLAGS for the first time, we were pretty excited..ahh to get back into a theme park..

well..it was okay. but not disney, only a few rides (coasters) that we did..and the ferris wheel. none of the shows started till late in the day and were DONE doing everything by noon!

didn't want to sit around for over 2 hours so we left. :confused3

the coasters were okay..but very rough to ride.

now dh and I are concerned as we plan to go to BG in tampa while down at WDW..should we bother..is it pretty much the same "quality" as Six Flags?

It has been a while since we went to Busch Gardens but at that time it was definitely at a higher quality than Six Flags. One vacation we didn't have time for Disney (I know...????...our travel partners were not interested and we complied with their choices....). We did a day at BG and loved it. I would definitely go again. Have a had many discussions with coworkers and if Disney was only the MK then Busch Gardens would definitely get more votes from the older kids and adults.

Enjoy your trip

Ha...we had a similar experience a few years ago in San Antonio. We had one day to do either Six Flags or Sea World. We made the mistake of going to Six Flags. I was sooooo bored. We should have gone to see the fish and mammals instead. Although...this was the first place I had seen giant turkey legs....I suppose that was worth the price of admission.

BG in Tampa is actually a pretty good park. It has one of the best roller coasters I've ever been on (and that's saying a lot!) called Sheikra. It also has a lot of animals that you can see more up close (but in more zoo-like settings) than Animal Kingdom. I wouldn't say it's on par with Disney, but DW and I really enjoyed our day there last winter.

We've been 2X - once 15yrs ago on our homeymoon (gasp it was that long ago??) and 2 yrs ago we went with our kids - 4yo and 10yo at the time. I enjoyed it the first time but wasn't too impressed last time.... didn't seem like there was a whole lot there - my best memory from BG was 15 yrs ago when they would let you hold one of the big birds and take pictures - still have the pictures (and wonder how I managed to be so skinny in them :lmao: ). Even the bird show wasn't great this time.

Perhaps it's b/c we took young kids though :confused3
