Can I add a 5th guest at check in?

I have a trip booked at Boardwalk, which sleeps five. I have 3 kids, but I didn't add the oldest to my reservation for a package because she already has tickets from many, many years ago when they sold non-expiring tickets. I don't see a way to add her without having to buy a package. Is it OK to add her at check-in? I believe there's a $25 charge per night for an extra adult. I don't mind paying that, but I don't want to buy her tickets that we already have.

I can't do a room-only reservation as it is not available.

As long as the room you booked is definitely occupancy 5, the fifth person can be added at check-in. The cost is now $35/nt plus tax, so just under $40.

If you booked a deluxe villa those are all max occupancy 5. That would work out fine with your plans.

What I would double check is if Boardwalk Inn rooms are up to max occupancy 5. I think not all the rooms have the 5th sleeper. Some rooms just have 2 queen beds. If you are assigned one of those rooms things could get tricky. You can request a room that has the 5th sleeper bed even with a 4 person reservation, but requests are not guaranteed. If you book for 5 people, then it will be guaranteed to get a room with 5th sleeper.

Chances are you’d probably be fine, especially if you arrive early in the day to make your request. But I’m not sure of the chances that they’d be unable to meet the request. Even if just a small chance, that would concern me unless we had a good back-up plan.

That is your only option but the BWI is $35 per night for an Extra adult. Your oldest will not be able to be include in any 7 day before arrival LL purchases or be able to be added to a dining plan.

This is what would concern me:




^The regular rooms have 3 options: King, 2 Queens, OR 2 Queens with a 5th sleeper. If you only reserve for 4 people, get assigned a 2Q room and occupancy is very tight that day, things could get tough. They will do all they can to help but ultimately if they cannot, they are not contracted to provide it. If you wanted to take your chances I’d try getting there as early in the day as possible. They’ll have more options at that point if they need to move which room you were assigned.

If you book the ‘Deluxe Studio’ all the rooms are the same. They come with a Queen, A murphy Queen and the 5th Sleeper:

The first set are rooms on the Boardwalk Inn side. The second set is rooms on the DVC villas side. Both are bookable via cash.

If the reservation says Deluxe Studio that is a DVC room and all accommodate 5.
If it is a standard room there are 4 configurations. A king bed, a king bed with a daybed, 2 queen beds and 2 queen beds with a daybed. With 4 listed you should get a 2 queen room. I onky use should because mix up’s can happen. There is no guarantee to get the daybed without 5. They may also have a roll away bed. I saw one last year being brought to a room. The staff at BW has always been helpful but if there is not one available for a few nights or the entire trip you need to have a backup plan. Although against the rules to have an unregistered guest know where they sell air mattress local also bedding will not be supplied.
