I made ressies a few months ago for VWL. I requested a balcony overlooking the pool, higher up, but I forgot to say non-smoking. Is it too late, or can I call to add that to my list of requests too?

It's never too late to add a preference to your reservation.

I would do it as soon as possible.

CALL THEM NOW. i HAD TO CALL AND ASK, BECAUSE I FORGOT TO THE FIRST TIME. THE CRO PERSON TOLD ME THEY COULD NOT GUARANTEE IT. I MADE A COMMENT ABOUT MY KIDS AND HUSBAND BEING ALLERGIC TO CIGARETTE SMOKE, AND SHE SAID SHE WOULD MAKE SURE WE GOT A N/S ROOM.

SHE SAID IF IT IS FOR MEDICAL REASONS, WE WOULD BE ASSURED THE ROOM.

THANK GOODNESS I CALLED THEM BACK. MY HUSBAND AND KIDS HAVE HORRIBLE ALLERGIES AND I DON'T WANT ANYTHING TO RUIN OUR TRIP IN DECEMBER.

Double check the confirmation they mail to you. I once forgot to request non-smoking but it was already on the confirmation.

I'd call today. I would also raise holy hell at check-in if I didn't get a non-smoking room.

ncligs - great smiley!

Wow, I just double checked my confirmation and it is a non-smoking room, but I know I didn't request that because I just re-read the e-mail I sent to make the ressie yesterday.

Perhaps it's gotten to the point where the assumption is made that people want non-smoking unless they REQUEST smoking???

Thanks all!

If MS forgets to ask, and if you forget to specify, the room defaults to non-smoking (unless things have changed).

The last couple of times I called, MS did ask if we had a smoking preference.
