And who told SusanWasHere just how awesome schoolbread is?!?!?! :scratchin She was originally trying to tell me that the cream puffs in France were better than schoolbread, but that was BEFORE she tried schoolbread; then she admitted it was better afterall :thumbsup2

I'm sorry I wasn't privy to such information. I'll try harder next time. You don't have to be so mean.:worship:

O.M.G. I am soooooooooooooo unhappy! :scared1: I seriously think my life is over. I LIVE for school bread. That's it - I'm selling my DVC and never ever going to Disney again. How could they do this to me???????????????????? :guilty:

And now I wish no one had ever told me about it - bc now I'm devastated ;)

It tasted as good as usual. The toasted coconut was crunchier, of course, but this is one of the less offensive recent Disney food changes.

Ummmm...I feel really embarrassed asking this because I SHOULD know, but what is School Bread?

I can't eat coconut so I'm not going to try it, but I was very curious that I have never come across it.

Guess I will just have to try it for myself!! It's a tough job, but someone has to do it!:rotfl:

I loved the old one, but I ADORE caramel so now I am really excited!! Bring on next May!!

I hated it :( I miss the original, IMHO the white icing added to the general flavor. The dog poo mess on top now is not enhancing anything,. Again, strictly my opinion, but schoolbread is now off my list. So sad:sad1:

Oh poop, I dont like toasted coconut! Oh well I guess I will finally have to try something else, maybe that glazed pretzel? Is that any good?

That glazed pretzel is sooo good. DH and I split it. GOOD! It is a sweet break with raisins cooked into it (like raisin bread).

I tried the original school bread for the first time earlier this month and loved it! I'm sorry to hear that it changed, but maybe the new version will be good too. It would be nice if they would sell both versions of school bread.

We have had the glazed pretzels and they are good, too.

Here is a picture of our school bread and 2 cookies from a few weeks ago.

OMG! I'm freaking out. I love school bread so much that it is on my itinerary so I don't forget to get it.

I hope I like the new one. Why would they mess with perfection?

I didn't like the original school bread. It was too sweet for me, & I have a serious sweet tooth. I may have to try the new one. I'll be curious to see, if anyone that didn't like the original liked the new version.

School Bread is our all-time favorite Disney treat. We tried the new recipe last week. It's not gross with the new caramel sauce -- but it isn't even close to as good. So disappointing.

Also, I used to love Kringla's open-faced sandwiches. But the old bread has been replaced with some sort of ciabatta bread. So not open-faced, and no longer buttered. The funny thing is, when I first saw the open-faced salmon/egg/butter sandwich 10 years ago, I thought it looked disgusting. My husband talked me into trying his, and it became my favorite.

Oh. Also. The girl at the counter was dismayed with the change. She said she wouldn't even try it because "it's not very Norwegian."

I'm not thrilled to hear that it has changed, but I'm still looking forward to trying the new version - hopefully I will be pleasantly surprised!

I really like the old School Bread but I had the new this week and it was a 100 times better! My family didn't like it the last time and they all loved it this time. I wouldn't say it is caramel though more just like sticky brown sugar glaze....to me that is different that what I would think caramel would be. Anyway it was really really good so give it a try!
