UH OH .... need some help!

We leave for WDW on a surprise trip in 5 months and we're SO EXCITED!

We are planning on driving from the Houston area - about 15 hours, and breaking it up into 2 days. We planned on driving to Gainesville and stay the night, and then drive the extra 2 hours in to WDW.

I thought I'd check hotel prices in that area, and much to my surprise there was NO AVAILABILITY...........

Being an AVID college football fan (GEAUX TIGERS!!!!), I looked at the Gators schedule and sure enough, there is a game that night .... they play FLORDIA -

So, here is my question - where else could we stay that is about 1.5-2 hours away from WDW? We thought we would just drive and wing it (pull in and book a vacant room), but with a major football weekend in our path, I don't think it's possible.

Anyone know where we could stay?

Tallahassee (3-4 hrs), Lake City (2.5 hrs), Ocala (1.5 hrs) after that - just go all the way there. You will be on the turnpike just after Ocala and there aren't many options unless you get off the exit towards Clermont and drive down Highway 27 until you get to Highway 192.
