I decided last week that we were going to Disney no matter what.
Since then, i've got $47.00 in Disney dollars, the lodging booked and I just got home from the Disney store where I bought our first Park Hopper pass! YeaH! I'm going to buy one each payday so i'm not dropping so much at one time! lol.

We have to buy a minivan and save lots more money before we can go, but i'm on the way!!!

Yep! Looks like you are going to WDW one way or another.<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/12/12_7_4.gif' border=0></a><a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/7/7_2_116.gif' border=0></a><a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/7/7_2_100.gif' border=0></a>

Stick with these boards! Get all your questions answered here! We had the very best vacation at WDW thanks to all the kind people here who answered my questions (and that was our third trip there!)! Happy planning!<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/3/3_8_7.gif' border=0></a>

first, welcome to the DIS!!! :bounce: and the addiction!!!
second, check out the budget board. lots of good advice on how to save on and for a disney trip!

Yeah, Steph!
You will love the planning part *almost* as much as you will enjoy your trip!
And a personal side note: Get the Unofficial Guide to Disney World -- it is a big help!
:D

:Pinkbounc Steph's going to Disney, Steph's going to Disney! :Pinkbounc

I've got the official guide- unofficial guide- cheapskates guide and everything in between. My dh is not nearly as excited as I am- he said last night if he hears disney one more time he is going to hork! lol.

heres hoping we get there and he falls in love! (and me too!) I'm in love with the idea that i'll fall in love with Disney for now!

Here's a ray of hope for you regarding DH. My DH took DD and I to WDW in Oct 2000. At the end of the vacation, he turned to me and said, "You know, I didn't want to come here very badly but I did it for you. I must say that this is the best vacation I've every had."

Now it was his idea to go this March. And while neither DD or DH is as excited as I am by the planning, they are both very grateful when we get there and it's all planned out for them!

Enjoy your planning Steph!! My dh was the same way- he really only went to WDW to humor me and shut me up! Once we got there, he had a fantastic time and even started saying things like, "The next time we come we'll......" Although my idea of going again is 14 months between trips and his is 3 years between trips....

The chances you DH will come around are pretty good. My DH HATED Disney his first trip. Granted it was mid April, very hot and crowded. He swore we'd never go back. Not even 12 months later we went back, and he found the magic. Fast forward to our last trip 11/03--- he said going every 9 months or so is too much we need to take a 1-2 yr break. Well--- I don't have my countdown clock set yet, but we are leaving 4/28/04. I couldn't of handled a 1-2 year break, and he misses it just as much now that we've been home for awhile. DISNEY is all we've been talking about for the last 2 weeks, and we compare most vacations to it!!! He's just as crazy now as the rest of us
:p !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Add my DH to the list of men who hemmed and hawed and didn't really want to go. That was 5 years ago. We're planning our 5th trip in three years now!!!

Welcome to the addiction - there's nothing like it!!!

Erin :D

You are giving me a little bit of hope for dh!!
His family-well, quite honestly, his family stinks!
He has never been on a vacation, not even a cheapy one. Never done even anything locally that is family oriented and fun. He's never been able to just have fun and i'm a little worried he doesnt know how!
We do little stuff around here and I think he has fun, but he never openly acts like it, he's pretty shy still.
I would be perfectly happy if he joined me wearing mickey mouse ears, eating a MM cone skipping down main street singing Its a small world, but i'll be satisfied with him saying he had a good time..

And if he doesnt- i'll just drag him along on the trip i have planned for 2 years from now!

Steph,
You are too funny.

My one sister went to Disney about 5 years ago with her husband and her then 9 year old son (he's 15 now). She said that her son only wanted to stay in the pool and her husband whined about Disney the entire trip.

Last year she went with her friend and had an absolute blast. Her son and husband were content to be left at home to sit in recliners in front of the TV watching Walker Texas Ranger or something. :teeth:

We are planning out trip for December. I can hardly wait.

I hope you have a great time. Seeing your posts gets me even more excited to go. :)

This board has saved me $300 already !!!!

Count my DH in with the truly converted !!!

First trip - he went grudgingly. Then, about two days in he looked up at me from a lounge chair beside the pool and said, "this is nice!"

Second trip - His Idea !!!!

Third trip is in two weeks and he is about to bounce off the walls!!! :bounce:

The best part for both of us, but especially DH, is that we have our trips completely paid for before we go. That way he can really RELAX and not worry about a thing. Now how often do husbands and fathers get to do THAT!

Have a wonderful time!!!
Robin

:hyper: A word of warning... since I joined this board (September 2002) we have been to Disney 4 times and our next visits are planned for April and December ::yes::

My husband used to "like" Disney. Now,thru all the information that I have gotten here, he has become a true Disney convert who "loves' Disney.

Yes, it's addicting ,but, it's fun!!!:yo-yo:

PS..I just had to edit the amount of times we have been to Disney since Sep 2002 from 3 to 4.
See...... a-d-d-i-c-t-i-n-g :happy1:

I so so so so so hope I can join you in the multiple trips!! I've got one planned for summer after next- i gotta have time to save! lol.

I have a feeling since i'm completely funding this one w/my part time jobs and scrapbook teaching he'll like it more than if it were coming out of his budget Ü

I told him if he didn't start grumping about it i was going to sprinke pixie dust on his pillow and make him a fairy

and hey, if he doesnt feel the magic, i'll take the kids by myself...one less ticket to buy!! lol!
