Ughhh Knee Surgery looming

Knee surgery went fine. Minimal swelling and almost full movement. There is still a little pain but I haven't been taking the pain meds. The majority of the work was done on the inside of the knee cap so hopefully that will get rid of all athe pain.

Have a follow up appt on May 2. May try to walk some this weekend. Will have to see what the weather brings.

Thanks to everyone for the good wishes.

My battle stories:

Duane: Hello; I had a medial meniscus tear two years ago on my (R) knee. I had arthroscopic surgery on April 2, 2005; I was able to return to running in six weeks with no complications.

Kathy: I'm glad your surgery went well. I also had the medical diagnosis of my knee being a "mess."

I am currently post surgery on my (L) knee; I had no injury, just pain which had progressed over the years. After 6 miles into a run it felt as if someone ran up to me and stuck a salad fork into the outside part of my knee. My surgeon went in and found lots of osteoarthritis and shredded cartilage on the underside of my kneecap. I am 10 weeks post surgery and still unable to run; the knee is still sore, but I'm hoping to get the surgeon's OK to begin running in 2-3 weeks after my check-up this week.

I can certainly empathize with all those heading into surgery, post-surgery, or frustrated with the inability to train due to injury. Stay strong everyone.
