I thought we had finally decided on a standard room at BWI (AAA rate of $305 including tax & 3rd adult charge) but today dh decided it was "too beachy" for him...

Going by his definition of "too beachy" that basically cancels out all of the Epcot resorts:(

I think the problem is I got him too psyched up for our original choice (WL) but I am not sure it's the best option for us(even though this used to be my first choice too!)--I am just worried about transportation and having enough room.

Starting to consider CR even though the theming throws me off a bit, just because of the location.

I'v figured if I've gotten in the $300 range (but cannot go much beyond that) for rooms (scary how in November when I started choosing a resort I said we couldn't afford $199 at WL and here I am okaying $300!!!!) I should have more options for rooms.

It's going to be me, dh, my mom, dd-4 and dd-2 (both of whom will be sleeping with us or my mom--we've done all 4 of us in a queen without issue, so don't worry about suggesting standard rooms).

So, what would you suggest for us? I've read that both CR and WL have jr. suites but can't find a picture and have read that they are actually synonymous with the Deluxe rooms...is this just additional square footage or are there French doors or some kind of separation between the sleep and sitting areas? And do all the standard CR rooms have the daybed?

Considered renting DVC points for a 1-bedroom but decided against it since we like the whole "hotel" feel of a vacation--visits from housekeeping, not preparing our own meals, etc.

I love the idea of monorail resort...especially since dh is being silly with the Epcot resorts. Of course I guess I am being silly with CR since I feel like the rooms colors are too manic (i.e. they are so loud that the kids won't sleep--I know, weird thought but it's just my initial reaction from seeing the pictures--am I overanalyzing it!?!?!) But I like the idea of having a walkway to MK...

Can someone sell me on CR (or raise some other options I might not have considered)? And give me the low down on what room option might be best for us (sticking to my already inflated $300-ish price range per night)? I would greatly appreciate being able to decide on a room--I have a hold with Dreams Unlimited on the BWI room that expires 3/25 and would like to decide by then!

My other options right now are to tell dh he is being silly and he'll thank me when he can walk over to watch all the NFL games at the ESPN Zone (God forbid he miss football for a Disney vacation!)...or just go with our original idea of standard WL and spend the extra savings on therapy for all the stress this resort choosing has caused!!!

PLEASE HELP ME!

Do you plan on spending that much time in your room?

You said that the theming of the CR doesn't do anything for you, but there is an advantage to staying there besides the location - the rooms are considerably larger that at BW or WL. Since there are 5 in your party, you might want to consider it. The bathroom is also larger with a split set-up - toilet/sink which can be closed off and shower/tub/double sinks set-up on the other side of the bathroom.

You might also want to consider a cabin at Fort Wilderness which has a full bed, bunk beds and a Murphy bed. I don't know what the rates are then for when you want to visit WDW.

Whatever you choose, have a great trip! :sunny:

How about the Polynesian? HUGE rooms, great zero entry pool, beach, watch fireworks from beach if your back to resort early with kids and my kids prefered fireworks from a "safe" distance AND you have great transportation options-boat or monorail to MK and walk to TTC for direct monorail to Epcot.
