ugh. This must be the worst room at OKW.

Checked in last night. I had requested buildings 23-26 but got building 14.......I am sitting on the balcony listening to the buses coming and going to my left and the air conditioning unit to my right.:crazy2: Glad we are only here for 2 nights. Too bad because I have had some gorgeous views at OKW, but this certainly isn't one if them :P Oh well, off to AK, I'll find some nice scenery there.

I am always afraid I'll get 14 when booking OKW HH....well I guess the dumpster view at WLV a is at least quiet.

Had a studio in building 14 on our first OKW stay. The bus noise was so loud that we could hear it from inside the studio with all the doors and windows closed. There was no relief from the bus noise - sounded like the buses were driving thru our villa. We ended up having to move, it was that bad. Only time that we have asked to change villas in all our years of Disney trips.

I agree we also had a studio in building 14. Lucky for us we were able to move to a different building.

omg....thanks for the heads up - I have a ressie now for 2br hh...will not take the chance. cannot stand bus noise!

If you are close to a bus route, you will hear them. Our last stay was in building 46 and the bus noise was noticeable.

Another one who feels your pain. We've done building 14 before and we won't reserve HH again because we don't want to chance going back there.

We are thinking of staying at Old Key West this fall. Where would a quiet building with water views be? I guess not 14 or 46.

My favorite rooms were in 37 and 43. Very quiet and nice water views. Studios tend to be the worst for noise since they are usually on the ends.

I'll only comment to say we stayed in building 38 once...once. One night. We had requested an upper floor, which we got, but we also got a view of Bamboo...thick right up to the balcony. It's there to hide the view of Bonnet Creek Parkway which is just on the other side of the foliage. The Conch Flats map is a little deceiving in how close it really is to the parkway, lol. They moved us to a first floor 1 BR in building 30 (I think?) Much quieter, and a nice view over the golf course. You can see it better with google maps.

Once I requested a studio on Old Turtle Pond - 2nd floor. They gave us exactly what we asked for. However, the only thing we could see from the balcony was the tennis court. I had to laugh when I walked out there. We never saw a soul on that court while we were there. No, it wasn't the greatest view, but someone has to have it. We were just happy to be there. Another time, we were on a studio on the first floor. Our patio was enclosed in shrubbery, along with the corner of the AC unit. At first I was disappointed, but we ended having a magical stay in that room. Each morning, as we sat out on the patio, we had a family of ducks join us. They would waddle from the pond, poke their heads under the shrubbery, and visit.

Buildings 43,37 and 35 look exactly what I'm looking for. Quiet water views but with a quick walk to the pool and bus. We would get a one bedroom. Would I request turtle pond, water view, upper floor? The Google map idea was brillant. How do you avoid getting the buildings bordering Bonnett Parkway if you request Turtle Pond?

Our last vist to WDW was our first stay at OKW in building 24 and included this view:

Wow! I will stop complaining about getting parking lots twice in a row at SSR! I remember reading in a Disney guidebook that there were no bad views at OKW. Just wow!

Oh that's a bummer for a first stay somewhere! **knock on wood** we've been lucky with our views so far with DVC stays. our VWL lodge view wasn't anything to behold but not as bad as this!

OP here. Well, we did our 2 nights at OKW and just checked into AKV Jambo. Had booked a standard view and got full savannah. First upgrade in over 50 trips.
Did you get upgraded or did you get one of the rooms that was reclassified from Standard View to Savanna View? After you check out, if you wouldn't mind sharing your room number that would be helpful. I am maintaining a list of reclassified rooms and would like to add it to the list if it appears to be a reclassified room. Thanks, and enjoy your stay at Jambo House!

Love OKW, but we have always had horrible views. We have also stayed in 38 twice, noisy with the bamboo jungle and 14 was probably the worst.
