ugh. This must be the worst room at OKW.

Once I requested a studio on Old Turtle Pond - 2nd floor. They gave us exactly what we asked for. However, the only thing we could see from the balcony was the tennis court. I had to laugh when I walked out there. We never saw a soul on that court while we were there. No, it wasn't the greatest view, but someone has to have it. We were just happy to be there. Another time, we were on a studio on the first floor. Our patio was enclosed in shrubbery, along with the corner of the AC unit. At first I was disappointed, but we ended having a magical stay in that room. Each morning, as we sat out on the patio, we had a family of ducks join us. They would waddle from the pond, poke their heads under the shrubbery, and visit.

That is cute! My boys would get a kick out of a morning duck visit. I bet those ducks are used to having a morning breakfast from those visits too!

We had a 2bd with a view of the balloon at DTD straight across the fairway, best view we ever had, and it was building 14. That side of the building didn't have any noise. Looking at the google pictures we could have had the unit facing the entrance road, so I'm happy we had what we had. :)

Here were my favorites on Turtle Pond Road. Neither had busses running outside, the bus stop is by 33. My least favorite room was in 28, no view except trees. All were 1 bedrooms.

Those views are incredible. No wonder you liked those buildings best. I will defiantly ask for turtle pond, water view buildings 43 and 37. Thank you for posting those pictures for everyone to see.

I'm not sure if it was building 14 but we had the bus noise once and it was so loud. Things like that don't usually bother me but it was terrible.

We stayed in Building 14, room 1433, 3rd floor 1 BR last year and didn't hear noise at all when we were inside. We were on the side facing the golf course at the end away from the road. When we sat out on the balcony, we could hear the occasional bus in the distance. I can see where being on the side near the entrance would be noisy, but we found it to be quiet where we were and wouldn't mind staying there again.

Our home resort is at OKW. We have also had a couple of stays with the dreaded bus noise. It's worse than a bad view. You can always pull the drapes, but you just can't block out that horrible bus noise!

We were in building 14, room 1428, in August. The bus noise was so loud! It kept me awake at night. In all my trips I never had a room where bus noise was a problem like that. I could not believe how loud it sounded.

I was surprised with all the bus and golf cart/truck noise in 4515. Plus the boat noise from the boat to DTD. It wasn't bad inside the villa, just sitting on the porch.

My number one request when staying at OKW is it must be a quiet view. Had a bus stop view once and was going to be in the room for 10 days. Paid the fee to change rooms the next day. I spend hours on the deck while the kids sleep.
Love OKW :lovestruc

We stayed in building 47 in January and had a lot of bus noise and a golf course view. The view was not great and the golf course maintenance crew is very loud early every morning. The room was also not very clean and was showing a lot of wear. This was our first stay at OKW, and will most likely be our last. I think there are some buildings that would be very nice to stay in, but since you can't be confident that you'll get the building that you request, it's not worth the risk for the amount that you pay.

I had a HH studio in the summer last year and was in Bldg 11 on the first floor. I thought it was great

There was no room available that same day so because we spent one night there was a room cleaning fee. If I remember correctly it was $30.

If you are close to a bus route, you will hear them. Our last stay was in building 46 and the bus noise was noticeable.

It's funny because our only stay at OKW was in building 46 and we had a great view of the water and didn't hear any bus noise. I loved our location. Maybe it depends on where in the building your room is.

Our first DVC stay was at OKW and we had a horrible view. It was so disappointing I didn't stay there again for years. The person checking us in was short and dismissive, she knew what we were getting. Bonnet creek parkway view with broken trees, big black snakes and big ac units to look at. :( at least the 2 bedroom had lots of room. Out front the planting beds were flooded due to some problem they were working on all week. Not at all what I was expecting!
