Ugh, So Frustrated w/7Month Reservations!!

Booking at a resort that you do not own at the 7 month point is a bonus and no one should be frustrated because a reservation is not available.
 
We went in July of 2009. We have OKW points and called to book at 7 months out. We wanted Mon-Mon in a 1BR, but Mon, Tue, Wed and Thur nights were all booked up. The CM told me that Fri-the following Fri was still available, but I had to call back in a few days (when it was 7 month mark). I called back and got the 1BR for July 24-29 (Fri-Wed), I think the 29th and 30th were not available. The CM said we got the last 1BR. We liked HH so much (my DH really really LOVED it) that we knew we'd want to go back, so we just, recently, made an offer on points there.
 
HHI was my original DVC purchase :) I ended up doing an add on there, plus Vero, AKV and VWL. I will not by lying when I say that HHI is by far our favorite!

I suspect the frustration was that the 3 days that were available had vanished by the time the CM booked the cash night. IMO, this is unacceptable, the CM should know this is a risk and book the points nights first. I think the best way to have handled this situation, after it had happened, would be to talk to a supervisor and get on a priority wait list.

Yes, that is the reason I was frustrated. I thought that was clear in my original post but apparently not everyone understood that. I realize that I can't expect to always get the resort I would like at 7 months (my 'bonus'), I just think the CM's should be trainined to handle the situation differently.

I don't think you can begin a reservation 7 months out plus one day, so if it was the first night that was unavailable for points, it had to be booked first. That's what I think the question is in some people's minds.
