My nephew(11) has lived with us since last August. He is going home next weekend so we are starting/continueing the packing process. He is driving me CRAZY  !!!! His parents have stated they want NO winter clothing brought back due to the fact he is growing like a weed currently and most will not fit by next winter. This should not be a hard thing, right??!! :confused3 He is fighting on everything! I thought we were clear. Only short sleeves, shorts, and nice jeans. Also he is not to take any bedding back. He is getting new "big kid" bedding. (Yes, he is 11, but emotionally more like 8-9. Better then then 6-7 he was when he first came!!) We also have to watch what he is taking because he is trying to sneak in some of Nick's things that he likes. OK, I guess I better go back into the room. Nick is getting upset again, I can hear the strain in his voice. Please send pixie dust that we all survive the next week!

It's gotta be hard on a kid to have to pack up only half of his stuff..... let him have a sweater or two if he's that attached to them. Can't hurt, might make him feel better....

Hugs to you, and to him!

Good luck. Why was he with you in the first place?
He came here is hopes we could turn him around before he opened is mouth and someone shut it for him permenently! He is a small boy but very "girly" and mouthy. The goal was to help him mature and learn to control his behavior enough to avoid being pummelled by some older kid he decided to mouth off too. We also worked on catching him up in school because he spent the last part of 4th grade seperated from his class most days due to the teacher not wanting to deal with him. (Ok, I could understand this 2 days into homeschooling!!) He has visited home 2x since last August and everyone there reports seeing a dramatic change in him. I guess we are too close becuase although I have seen improvement I don't think it is much. He could use one more year with us, but I don't think my family could survive it. My DS11 is ready to take him out and has really learned patience and temper control over the last few months. (Nick has asked permission on several occasions to "beat the crap out of him")
I am sending a few of his long sleeve shirts home due to the chilly weather we have been having. He is just being obsessive about things though. He has spent most of the evening trying to push Nick's buttons. So far Nick has held his tongue and just ignored most of it, but I'm not so sure he will last much longer. At the moment it is queit though becuase my husband put a dvd on that they both like and he is sitting in here with us watching it. My young charge knows Uncle Rick won't take any of his "stuff" and will send him to his room if he isn't nice!!
Thanks for the good thoughts!

You sound like a wonderful family, Chager, to take on such responsibility. I really admire your efforts. I honestly can't say that I could do the same thing were I in your place. Good luck and enjoy the break!

To be honest after the help you have given them I wouldn't put my family thru any more stress and I would just pack up all his stuff and let the other end deal with it! If it is this hard for him they have a lot of nerve asking you to do it. Just pack him up winter clothes and all and let everyone leave on a good note. He is probably really stressed with the thought of going back also and probably not functioning at his best. You've helped a lot don't feel you owe it to them to follow all their wishes. Good luck
