Ugh - Joy and Sadness line is Torture!

Is it all one big line...like you see J & S first and then move on to Baymax? Or are they 2 different lines that you need to wait in?

We got in line around 9:30 and got through by about 10:10 according to our photopass. I thought the line moved relatively smoothly. The original Baymax and Hiro M&G over at DHS felt like it moved much slower. The key may be to get there early and judge the time based on how much of the line room is filled.
We met them today and had the same exact experience. Not a bad wait at all and less than the estimate we were given by the CM at the line entrance

With Soarin down and a Test Track FP in hand, would this be the best place to go first at RD (at least until A&E/FEA is completed)?

Probably good to get there early. We're not going to be able to get to Epcot early (check out day) so we're going late. We already have our TT fp shoved up to 8-9 pm so we may hit that last then go over to the M&G. Really don't know at this time what we want to do but that's the plan for now. It's also a pm EMH day, though with 2 little ones we may not hang past 9.

We had pretty good luck getting in line at 8:30 last night. The line was two rows deep, and each family was spending about a minute and a half to two minutes with the characters (my husband was timing it ;) ).

Joy and Sadness did step out at one point, but only for about 5 minutes.

We were through and walking away at 9:05 - so 35 minutes in total. In all, I'm quite happy with how it went.

That said, the Chewie meet and greet is even better! :lovestruc
You just answered what was going to be my question (How is it at night?) I hope it is like that when we go in June.

Just be prepared to either miss the fireworks or watch them from a distance. :)

I actually thought we'd be the last people in line for a bit, but then a whole crowd got in, right around 8:45. So, regardless of whether we showed up half an hour or 15 minutes before close, we were in for a half hour wait. They closed the building doors promptly at 9pm, but it appeared that if you were already inside but just off in the bathroom or meeting Baymax, you could still jump in line for a little bit afterward. (We saw a mum and daughter come running up as we were leaving, at 9:05. The cast member said to them, "Don't run! You're not too late!" There was still a decent line waiting.)

For 5/8 we've planned to go over right at 9 am to do Joy and Sadness and then Baymax afterwards. Hoping that's a good plan for minimal waiting.

P.S. Glad to see you are in the parks. Feel I already know you from our ROL Lounge days ;o) Hope you are having a great time.

Where is there a wait time posted? We got in line at 3:05 this exact same day. We had to be home by 5 pm & our house is 20 min away from Epcot so I made a point of asking what the wait was since I couldn't find anything on MDE & saw nothing posted. The first 2 cast members I asked had no idea but the 3rd (standing at the exit) said it was running about 45 min to an hour. My 4 yr old was super excited (they are her favorites!) & wanted to wait so we took our chances. Actual wait time ended up being 42 minutes. 4 yr old played with other kids in line to pass the time & never once complained. They spent over 5 min playing with my daughter once we finally got in & she absolutely loved it! It was definitely worth the wait. Part of the wait probably depends on how much the people in line want to interact with them so I'd say it's probably hard to post a really accurate wait. She has been asking to go back almost every day since so I know the long wait didn't phase her at all!

Sorry it's taken so long to respond! After getting back from our trip, I haven't signed back in for a while. :) The only thing I can think of to explain the difference in waiting time is perhaps they'd taken a break when we'd gotten in line, so nothing moved for a bit? Wouldn't make up for the whole gap, though. Odd.

As for the posted times, I swear I glanced at Baymax and saw 25 minutes, and then saw 30 for Joy and Sadness. I even remember thinking to myself that those times couldn't be right, but we'd take our chances anyway.

I think the other disappointing thing was the actual interaction. We were thinking that the reason the wait was so long was because the interactions must be awesome, and that's what I'm reading here. But honestly, it was nothing more than any other character meet and greet. Nothing wrong at all, but maybe a minute, maybe two, tops? Enough to get a hug from each, a few pics. So to wait 75-90 minutes, and then just have a typical meet and greet... :/ DD10 was so excited to meet them, but maybe because she was older than some of the other kids? Even though she's not a little one anymore, there are some characters she really does still look forward to seeing every time we go - Pooh, Stitch, and this was a big one. I don't know. We're going back in July, but based on our first experience, I'm not inclined to try again. :(

If we are coming from the IG and want to go straight to meet Joy and Sadness at RD, where do we go exactly?
First time to WDW, so I don't know my way around yet. Although I have been studying maps.
Thanks!
