Ugh - Joy and Sadness line is Torture!

We got in line around 9:30 and got through by about 10:10 according to our photopass. I thought the line moved relatively smoothly. The original Baymax and Hiro M&G over at DHS felt like it moved much slower. The key may be to get there early and judge the time based on how much of the line room is filled.

Glad to hear this! DD and I are going in August and my plan for our first Epcot day is to do Soarin' at rope drop then see Baymax, Joy and Sadness. I'm hoping that this will still be the case then. We'll probably get in line for Joy and Sadness first since they seem to take the longest and then get in line for Baymax.

It took me over an hour to meet Baymax and Hiro last March! Well worth it though. Looking forward to Joy and Sadness next year.

They showed a 30 min wait when we got into line at 2:50 on April 7th, but we waited nearly 90 minutes. Almost bailed a few times, but we were fortunate to stand in line next to a nice family so we stuck it out. They really do need to address it, though. Honestly, I got a FP+ thinking it was for them, but only for Mickey and friends in the Character Spot across the way. They either need to provide FP+ options, or at least keep their guests better informed with a more accurate wait time. Being off by 20 minutes or so is one thing, but an hour?? Not cool.

Where is there a wait time posted? We got in line at 3:05 this exact same day. We had to be home by 5 pm & our house is 20 min away from Epcot so I made a point of asking what the wait was since I couldn't find anything on MDE & saw nothing posted. The first 2 cast members I asked had no idea but the 3rd (standing at the exit) said it was running about 45 min to an hour. My 4 yr old was super excited (they are her favorites!) & wanted to wait so we took our chances. Actual wait time ended up being 42 minutes. 4 yr old played with other kids in line to pass the time & never once complained. They spent over 5 min playing with my daughter once we finally got in & she absolutely loved it! It was definitely worth the wait. Part of the wait probably depends on how much the people in line want to interact with them so I'd say it's probably hard to post a really accurate wait. She has been asking to go back almost every day since so I know the long wait didn't phase her at all!

Dont come Disneyland Paris:

To meet one of the regular characters in Town Square the wait is about between 25-50 minutes.
Reason being the characters spend ages with each family.

90 minutes. Wow that is soooo long.

We had pretty good luck getting in line at 8:30 last night. The line was two rows deep, and each family was spending about a minute and a half to two minutes with the characters (my husband was timing it ;) ).

Joy and Sadness did step out at one point, but only for about 5 minutes.

We were through and walking away at 9:05 - so 35 minutes in total. In all, I'm quite happy with how it went.

That said, the Chewie meet and greet is even better! :lovestruc

Anyone know how early you can get in line? We have a PPO ADR at GG and am planning on heading over as soon as we're done.

Just back and saw them at 9:30 am on day they had EMH morning. Was a good 30 minutes and probably up ton45 by time we left. Great M&G!

We waited probably about 35-40 min on Wed of this week around 2:30 pm. It was the longest we waited for any attraction or meet and greet all week. There is not a wait time posted and the line did move quite slowly. The characters were spending maybe 3 min with each family, which is a lot I think. My daughter enjoyed the meet, but it was not a fun wait.

My 2 year old insisted on getting in line for them today. It was a 60 minute wait. The cast member up front said it's been 50-90 minutes consistently all week.

The Hiro-Baymax line at DHS was like that last year. Much slower than you imagine it will be.

Must be an oversized costume thing (I assume they are oversized costumes instead of face paint). Gets too hot inside or something like that, so lots of breaks.

We arrived at the Epcot international gateway last week around 8:20-8:30 and were allowed in and walked all the way up to the rope right in front of the character spot, where we were held until around 8:55 and then allowed in. It was a bit of a free for all getting into the stroller parking/queue but not mass chaos. We ended up waiting around 35 minutes.

Oh man when I went March 2015 the line was a good 2 hours each time! We waited a couple of times for them. So worth it.
I will definitely be waiting for Joy and Sadness (just hope that it's an hour or less!!!) I do wish they had Anger and Fear meeting (those are MY two strongest emotions LOL!!) I'm so excited they are releasing more "recent" characters (I do love my original Disney Princesses etc) it's nice to see more "relevant" characters in the parks!

We saw Joy and Sadness on 4/6, we went there right when the park opened and we were in and out seeing them and Baymax in less than 25 minutes. Sadness is so darn cute and she interacts so well. Definitely do Joy and Sadness first because Baymax can't interact much so his line moves fast

Actually they are saying baymax by himself is much faster. I'm thinking Hiro did a lot of interaction so the line slowed down. Now its a fist bump, hug and picture. That said the longest I have ever waited for anything was Hiro & Baymax last August 60 Minutes - usually I wont even think about getting in line if it is posted 30+minutes. But once we got there it was tons of interaction. DS wore his baymax shirt and characters were fist bumping all day. At one point Genie was showing Jasmin and Aladin how to do it Balalala.

Looking forward to Joy and Sadness this summer! RD or late sounds like the best plan to avoid hour or longer waits.

We're going in September and going to RD Joy and Sadness one day and FP Soarin or one of the Frozen things that day; then on another day RD Soarin or Frozen and FP the other.

Last Sunday I got in line around 12:35 and it took just over an hour- and the line was growing longer behind me. I did not see a wait time posted. I think any time you meet two characters together, it takes longer. J&S are adorable, though, and I really wanted to meet them, and that was really the "least bad" time I was able to do it.

The line does move VER-R-RY slowly (Chewbacca's was surprisingly quick).

Regarding strollers, I think not; I did not see strollers in line, and IIRC there were strollers parked outside the waiting area.
