So, here it is 8 pm and I've been here since 7 a.m. I think I'll be here at least a couple more hours. I hate it when I get something today with a do or die due date of tomorrow.

My eyes are burning . . .

When's the last time you had to work crazy hours? and what for?

Today!

In at 8 AM - still here...and everyone else is gone for the day.

UGH :badpc:

My worst 2 days started at 7:30 a.m. the first day, ran until 4:30 a.m. the next day. I live close, so I was asleep by 4:45 and awakened at 6:15 by our data center to tell me there was a problem with a file. I dozed for a while and was on the phone with my boss at 7:30 and back at work by 8:45. I worked that day until 4:30 p.m.

I picked up my kids at the Y and went home to sleep. DH wakes me at 6 p.m. to ask what's for dinner. Um, my fist in your mouth, maybe? He finally broke down and cooked at 8:30 that night. I came down for dinner and went back to bed.

Our SQL server had crashed. We had to bring it back online while also processing all of the days' transactions.

Hopefully, this was a one time event in my life.

That was me today!! Yesterday the delivery truck got to my school late and I had to go get my dd so I did not have time to put the stock up. So...since we were getting two trucks in today I had to go in early to get yesterday's stock put up. I got up at 3:30 am and I finally left work at 4:30pm today as we had Open House this afternoon. School starts tomorrow!!

Get back to work and then go home!

I know, it was just a weak and quick moment of a break. Finally got home about 11 pm. Now back here at 6:30 am. I've also had those wake up at 1 am panic moments where I've gone to work b/c I knew I couldn't go back to sleep until I did what I was panicing about.

this was back in April. I was working as a parelegal clerk and a case I was working on had deadline that was fast approaching. Well, for two days straight I would be to work at 6:30 am and work until 9:30 pm to 10:00 pm at night, and that didn't include my two hour commute each way.

Last Dec 31st I coordinated our physical inventories and came in at 6:00 am and let at 4:30 am the next morning. Gotta love those 22.5 hour work days!

Dh went in to work at 7:30 AM yesterday and walked in the door around 3:30 AM this morning. He only works crazy hours like this when a project needs submitting. A few times he has worked over 24 hours straight.

Back in my IT days, we had a number of midnight or later days -- the worst stretch was an implementation in Santiago, Chile where we worked 3 straight days from 8am to 2am, eating nothing but KFC because it was the only place (that we trusted) that was close to the office.

My schedule's pretty normal now, it's my DW's schedule that's nuts. This week, she's gotten home two nights at 1am. :sad2: The one night I have seen her before midnight, she spent most of the night on her cell phone working through something with a manager of hers who was back in the office.

Her worst stretch was last winter when she worked a 110 hour week, including one stretch where she worked 30 straight hours (in at 9am, worked through the night, and left the client at 3pm the next day).

A few summers ago, I was working as a contractor for Charter, doing the technical writing for a new software platform to which they were going to upgrade (despite never having used the software myself, but that's another story). The Friday before the Monday launch, the server containing all of my work ate itself, so I stayed in the office till they threw me out at 8 pm. Took the work home and continued working on it till 3 am and then slept for 5 hours. Worked on it all day Saturday till 2 am and slept for 6 hours, and then all day Sunday till 4:30 am. I was back in the office at 7:30 to get everything wrapped up and submitted by 8. Ugh, that weekend was horrible, but the OT pay was fantastic.
