We planned a fairly last minute trip that we are having to cut some corners on. My kids have a list of where they want to eat at, but I just can't do all of them. I am buying a TIW card to help defray some costs, but still...

Sooooo, if you could pick only one of the following restaurants, which would it be?

Chef Mickeys
Hoop Dee Doo Review
O'hana (Dinner- we are for sure doing Lilo & Stitch breakfast already)
Tusker House
Garden Grill

We are a party of 9. The 2 of us, plus our kids ages 18 (and her bf), 13, 11, 5, 2, and my 18yo niece... so we have a wide range of kiddos with us. The 5yo, 2yo and my niece have never been.

Will TiW work at all of those? I know there are black out dates, etc for some of those meals.

All of that being equal, I would probably do Tusker House or HDDR (if I thought the 2 year old would be okay through it)

Yes, we checked. I was really on the fence about getting it, but with so many of us it will really save us. Especially if we do the late HDDR show.. just not sure if the 2yo will do well that late.
We are also doing Be Our Guest, Lilo & Stitch and Raglan Road plus whichever we decide from above.

I haven't done HDDR with a 2 year old, but my guess is that the late show wouldn't have worked for my little ones. PLUS, all the travel time. I would probably do Tusker House, personally.

I'd cut Tusker House and 'Ohana (only because you are already eating there for breakfast).

HDDR is fun, but as others have said, it might be hard to do a late show with a 2 yo. I love the food at Tusker House, so that would be my second choice. And if you are doing Lilo and Stitch breakfast, I wouldn't also do O'hana for dinner. Your kids had a really huge list!

You said you planned this trip fairly last minute and with that many people it is going to be hard to get ADRs. So I think you should go wherever you are able to find ADRs
This.....get what you can for 9 people! also I would do ohana at dinner.... I love the atmosphere and the food is different from breakfast (I used to love Chef Mickeys for kids, but haven't been in years, and keep reading awful reviews here) Tusker house was pretty good too the one time we did lunch there

I would do Tusker House, as it would interest the little ones (characters) and the older ones (fascinating African theme). Plus the food is better.

I would do Hoop Dee Doo with that large a group assuming I could get the table for the show I wanted.

Have a wonderful time whatever you decide!

Garden grill...food is better than Chef mickeys and you still get characters. I have not been to the others.

I have to agree with those who mentioned that getting these ADRs for a large party will be very difficult at the last minute. I recommend grabbing the ADRs that you can get first and then pare it down if necessary.

But if you already have ADRs for all of them, then my order of preference would be:
  1. Tusker House
  2. Hoop dee Doo
  3. Garden Grill
  4. Chef Mickey's
  5. 'Ohana (but that's because I dislike having my food delivered to me in the manner that they do it there)

As much as we love O'hana, with the your lil ones who have never been to Disney, I think Tusker House would be the best interaction. Plus the food is good.
I've heard Touring Plans has a reservation alert to help you find the ADR you're looking for.

Regardless, we really like Touring Plans.

Have a great trip.

I too have a large gap between my older set (18, 15) and younger set (6,3) of kids, but it makes for great vacations!

We already have them for everywhere except HDDR, but I know I can get that one. But after we made them we decided we wanted to just make most of our tickets into annual passes when we leave if the two littlest do well there, so we have to cancel a few reservations. Thanks though!

Thanks everyone! I think we have narrowed it down to Tusker House or HDDR. I think even though it's late we are going to do HDDR. He will sleep on our lap if he's tired or worst case scenario we can let him watch kids shows one of the older kids phones. We are going for 12 days this time so we will more than likely be going home for a nap everyday anyway so they can stay out later... well at least hopefully that will work lol.

It's because they each wanted to go somewhere different lol
