The whole fandangled town is without power today/night. As is the town next to us.
You'd think the world was ending the way the kids are acting up.
Thankfully I can DIS from my phone although I'm eating battery.
We are sleeping in the RV since I can run the generator. I really really hope we wake up to power, it's stressing me out!!
Ok vent over! Lol

hope the power comes back on soon....just tell the kids its like in the "olden days"!

You can always charge the phone in the RV :)

Hope it comes back soon. My girls go nuts too when the power is out. Sheesh its not the end of the world.

Just spoke w/ Buffy.. didn't get power til almost 3am.... then they trudged back into the house to get some more a/c....

Happened to us the night before last too - after that terrible storm came through- we had no power for 12 hrs. Boy, National Grid has been getting some negative feedback from many surrounding towns after all our power outages in the past 2 months.

Happy to hear their power came back!!

You don't have a generator in the house? I thought you did with all the servers your DH has.

Glad to hear the power came back. I live 20 minutes from Buffy but we didn't lose power.

Our community is located on a mountain. It is the largest community in our county. It is not uncommon for us to go without power for 3 or 4 days due to a bad storm or snow because of road conditions.

I hope the heat isn't bothering your family too much.

Nope no generator, the computers and servers are in perpetual sleep mode so even if we lose power they are ok for a while.
We've disconnected a lot of them though.

I want to get either a generator or solar panels with battery back up. That will probably be a go when the next round of stock options vest. We need a new roof even though this one is less then 15 years old. Previous owner used el cheapo shingles.

We had wicked weather the night before but there was really no reason for the power outage, especially one that big. There had to have been a issue at a local power plant.
Thankfully the weather has been good at night, the only issue was there was no breeze so cooling off the house was difficult.

Or old house used to have power outages all the time. They never upgraded the transformers after they built all the houses behind us so afternoon draws on the power lines caused outages at least 2 times a month.

We had an outage for a couple of hours last night - no special reason! But it set some burglar alarms off so it was hard to sleep - DH suggested making a cup of tea:rolleyes1 Don't know how he thought he'd manage that - electric kettle, electric cooker, electric microwave.......

LOL Mazda!!! I'd have made him get up and make a camp fire so you could cook it outside.

ETA: although I can't tell you how many times I turned the cupboard light on to get food. DUH, it wasn't going to work!!!
