I don't do most of the fundraisers.
All my friends and family have kids about the same age as does my husband's co workers.
I know it makes DS a little sad, but he has known how I will handle this since kindergarten.
I buy all of the 10 tickets at the end of school fair, for BBQ lunch, I don't even try to sell to family, just pick up and bring to neighbors and friends. This runs me usually $60.00. With the sale of all ten tickets he gets to go to a big fun day party at school, so he doesn't miss out on all parties : ).
I spend at least another $20 on ride tickets and 10.00 on game tickets and snacks. I also contribute to the class basket for the auction, I usually spend 20.00 on that .
And of course what ever I decide to buy in silent auction or bid on in the big auction. That weekend usually runs me about 200.00 with the purchase of BBQ tickets.
Next week I will spend most likely 15.00 or 20.00 on candy for the school halloween AR party and give my time. ( whew , glad I remembered that !! lol)
Last month I gave the teacher 25.00 for limeaide for learning, she is trying to raise money for some new multiplication learning program , CDS, DVD, computer programs. I also spent about 20.00 at book fair , which I also HATE, because books are over priced, but at least we can always use books .
I contribute quite a bit, but I am just not going to buy over priced wrapping paper and cookie dough I don't want or need.
Now if they did Krispy Creme donuts , I would be the first to sign up LOL
