Ugh...family !!

my largest gathering was at OKW in 3 GV's simultaneously at Xmas for 34 friends and family.............and i did hire private help to make it work................but it was fun and exhausting

well, you warned me. It starts already! I was told to book 3 studio's and after it was done and it was time to pay I'm told they are not sure but they will pay for 2 rooms. Aaack!!

We went to WDW with myself, DH (now, EH ), DS7, DD10, DM, DD, DB, DB, DSIL, DN1 about 18 years ago. All stayed in Poly. This was before PSs, so that was easier.

I made the ressies, but since we all had to have money IMMEDIATLEY to cover the first night, it was an easier situation. And it was a great time...We are all very much alike and still vacation together, from time to time, at WDW.


BUT...When the financial burden seems to all be falling on YOU.....LOOKOUT!!

I vote for letting them rent their own points and making their own plans.

Well I have already rented the points for 3 rooms with a non-refundable contract. We could move the points around and end up with a 2 bedroom for the time or add one night on to each reservation but what a PIA!

Fortunately my DH talked to her and explained more so MIL is sending out for all 3 rooms. Worse to worse my DSister can rent the last room and pay my MIL for it.

Never again!! I thought it was too easy!

That's why I suggested that you allow your family to contact the DVC member and pay them. I'm sorry . Perhaps you can nail your family down to how many studios you really need soon. If you only need 2, you can ask if the DVC member will allow you to cancel one of the studios since you just made the reservations. When I rent out points I allow my renters to cancel for a fee of $50 as long as I am able to re-rent the points.

If worse comes to worst you can rent out your extra studio on the DVC rental boards.
