Ugh!!!!!!! AG dolls!

Trying to order a Just Like Me doll except none of the dolls are just like my dd! It is so frustrating!

Me neither. I called up and I also had a catalog. I'd love to get some cyber Monday deals but I can't even see what they are offering. I am so annoyed with the whole doll thing. It's not like she has 3 heads or something. They just don't have the combination of hair, eyes, skin, that my dd has.

That would be upsetting. What combo do you need for a "just like me"?

I guess my girls are easy - light brown hair and brown eyes or blue eyes. It seemed like there were so many combos when we were at the store that they had every possibility covered.

I had the same problem last year...my daughter was in tears at the New York store when she realized that none of the dolls were really just like her.

Fast forward to this year -- we will be at the NY store again in two weeks and this year they have a doll that IS just like her.

Their web-site is now DOWN with a message that they are updating to better serve us............ya right!

It says to place an order please call, and it lists their phone number. Well the line has been busy for 1/2hr so far cannot get through. I wonder what items are already sold out. Quite a few were sold out before I went to work this morning. How sad and frustrating. I honestly thought they would be better prepared for this.

Let's see.........their was the curicue bed for $40 (reg $60), butterfly bedding for $15.........both sold out before 9:00am.

I didn't think any of them looked just like my girls, either - but I bought the ones they picked out of the catalog. They have light skin and blue eyes - but the hair isn't a match.

Ah well, I'm sure the girls will love them.

I couldn't get the web-site to work for me today - it was SO SLOW. They lost my purchase - it just wasn't worth it to me, at all.

I know when we went to the store this past summer, we could not get the exact combination of hair, eyes, and no freckles. She ended up taking one with lighter hair than hers.

Nope, no Just-Like-Me for my daughter. I think there's ONE doll with hazel eyes. And IF she gets one, she wants hazel eyes (because her hazel eyes are a new development in the last year - they used to be blue!) So we bought Rebecca instead. Hair color and eyes are much closer - though DD wishes she could get curls like that!

Website seems to FINALLY be back up - at least it's not the burgundy screen of death anymore!

Instead of trying for one of the ones to look like her why not try another direction and pick one of the historical/classic ones. Let her pick which girls adventures she would like to read about. That is what my DD did!

My 6 year old wanted a Just Like Me doll too, until we realized that Kit looks more like her than any of those! It's almost freaky how much she and Kit look alike!

Too funny I bought Rebecca for my light brown hair/hazel eyes daughter lol(age 9)

They had the combo for my other 2 dd's dark brown hair/ blue eyes/ fair skin(bought years ago ,she's 17 now)
and dark brown,one length hair/brown eyes/fair skin (she's 6 and will get her this year

It is not an AG but they are really good and you build your own doll and send in a picture of your child so it really matches. We have one of DS from when he was 5, it looks just like he did then. I am sorry that we never did one of DD.
They are having sales now too.

DD's first AG was a "Today Girl" and looked just like her. This yr she is wishing for Chrissa. My DD11 is on swim team, loves crafts and this summer cut her hair and now looks just like Chrissa.

DD7 ended up with Nicki 2 Christmas's ago and to this day Nicki looks just like my DD. It is really amazing.

I have heard of another little boy having one. My DD wanted it because she has a large mole on her neck (you can't see it in the pic, but the doll has it too.) I think they did a great job.

My daughter also has Kit for the same reason. Bobbed hair, freckles.

My daughter picked Mia last year, in part because she was the closest lookalike to her and in part b/c she was the doll of the year. It was fun! But like PP, she had the freckles, the hair color and length but her eyes are green where DD's are blue. Still, DD identified with Mia's freckled nose more than another doll's blue eyes! Atta girl!! (I love those freckles too!)

If you get a My Twinn doll do remember they are not American girl doll size! They are quite a bit bigger and none of the clothes or furniture will work with them. Also none of the "knock off" clothes or furniture or accessories will fit or work. Just something to think about before buying. Also a lot bigger for your DD to carry around and very few other little girls have them.
