Uggs--help choosing a color?

I have decided to cave and buy some Uggs. I'm actually getting knock-offs, which are a bit cheaper, but not by that much. They come in a "chestnut-like" color or dark brown. I wear black, navy, brown and gray pants, and rarely wear jeans.

I like the chestnut color and think it would go better with my clothes, but I keep reading that they get dirty very quickly. The knock-offs are treated for water and stain repellancy, but I'm not sure how effective it will be. I'm also going to buy the Uggs spray. I don't plan on wearing them in deep snow, but there will be dirty slush on the ground much of the time.

Should I go with the chocolate even though they won't look great if I have black pants on? I'm trying to be practical, as I doubt I'll be buying another pair anytime soon.

My DD has the chestnut brown one and she beats them to "heck". Her shoes always look like a disaster about a week after she gets them but her Uggs from last year still look pretty good. We live in NY and she has worn them through snow and ice too. I wouldn't worry about the color unless you are getting the really light tan ones. They don't show a lot of wear. I did spray them with the Ugg protectorant spray first so maybe that is what made the difference.

I have the dark brown uggs and they actually have gotten trashed from the snow and salt...they front have white on them. So I would go with the color that matches most of your clothes. Also the suede spray from Target works just as good, if not better than the ugg spry. I was not impressed with the ugg spray at all...I used them on the brown ones and they still got trashed from the snow

I love my Uggs. I would save up for real ones and not buy knock offs at all they last a long time. If you have a Marshal's they have Uggs in stock. I have brown, blue, gray, purple, black and tan. My purple ones were my first and oldest and I wore them constantly they show very little salt ets as long as you spray them and when they get wet let them dry slowly. If you see a salt ring just wipe it off when it is drying.

My winter wear is mostly black so I went with black Uggs.... If you really want black you might consider waiting until after the Xmas holidays to scoup up a good bargain on the real Uggs. I got a great deal on a pair of slides at an after Xmas sale :thumbsup2

Other than the slides I have the "cove" style boots that I love. I used the Ugg spray and they both still look great :thumbsup2

Thanks for all the suggestions and info! I could buy a girls pair of Uggs for the same price, and they would easily fit me. However, these have arch support and fit my feet better. They also have a guarantee. I wish they did come in black, but I have foot problems and I need to get something with better support than Uggs has.

Oh, and thanks for the tip about the Traget spray! I think I'll get the chestnut ones and try that.

what is the brand you are looking at?

Are these the LL Bean ones? I bought them before getting my Uggs. They were nice, but the inside was synthetic. And they ran VERY big. I got my usual size, but I should have gone down 2 sizes, I think, so they had to go back. I returned them and got my Uggs, which I LOVE and wear every day. Sometimes, I even sleep in them, just like slippers. BTW - I would get the dark brown; it was pretty.

I don't know what brand you're looking at, but I can highly recommend Warmbats (from Austalia). I researched pretty thoroughly and found that many reviewers had both Uggs and Warmbats and preferred the Warmbats.

I ordered a pair for a mountain trip that I just returned from today. It was very cold (including some snow :thumbsup2) while we were there, and my feet never got remotely cold. The sheepskin is very, very soft and cozy. They come with an extra memory foam insole to help with sizing.

They also come with the spray included. I treated them, and they aren't showing any stains (they're the light tan color too), and I wore them every day.

I would go for the real uggs also! I am soooo cheap but they are WORTH IT! I have a pair of black tall boots and a pair of sand tall boots...I LOVE LOVE them butt I would rethink the sand if I could have lol also I got the ugg cleaning kit and used the waterproofing on them and OMG I am glad...my ds12 spilled BLEACH on my black uggs!! I wanted to cry but I took them to a shoe repair store to see if they could dye them and because I waterproofed them the bleach sat on top and didnt sink in so they peeled off the bleach and cleaned and waterproofed them again and they look BETTER then they did before. lol I only paid 20.00 bucks...:worship:
I am hoping that I have the chestnut slides under the tree this year....my dh keeps hinting at it lol I LIVE in my uggs from dec-feb then flip flops the rest of the time (live in florida) :)

Ilive in my Uggs too. I wear the boots in my house all winter long!

Anyone, know where there will be a good sale on UGGS??

I have sand, chesnut and orange (yup, orange! I love them!) Uggs. The sand are my oldest pair so I tend to wear those on nasty weather days. You would be amazed at how well they hold up after being treated.

My chesnut talls go with most everything I wear.

I got a new pair for Xmas today. They are leather. Can't wait for the 2 feet of snow we got last week to melt so I can wear them!

Anyway, I would go with the chesnut, lol!;)

My vote is for Mulberry. Yes, they have purple Uggs for women. They are so cute!!!!
