Help!

My DD wants santa to bring her pink uggs for christmas. But i am not sure he can run to $93 for a pair of kids boots, she is 8 years old!

What do you think about Bearpaws or Emu's, they both come in pink. Which is better, do you think i could get away with getting her either of them?

Has anyone shopped at Shoe City before?

My DD9 and DD12 both have the Bearpaws and love them. They have had them a year now and wear them all the time--snow, ice whatever. They have held up very well. My 12-year-old walks a mile to and from school in them all winter! They both think they are very comfy and warm.
So, quality/looks yes. However, if your child is kind of kid who will not feel good about herself without the brand name on the back, then they will not work for you! Both my kids have friends who would not want the knock-offs. Luckily my kids think that is ridiculous!

I have Emu's (adults) and they're great! I found the lining in Ugg boots to be a little softer but not really worth the price difference.

I just received a pair of Dawgs from Shoebuy.com and I love them! I bouoght them by going thru Sunshine Rewards. I received 15% off the sale price, free shipping and $7 in my SR account. Really nice pair of boots for less than $40!

DD19 and I have Bear Paws and DD8 has Emu's....either brand would be a good substitute for Uggs. My DD8 wanted Uggs as well this year but there is no way I'm going to spend that much on shoes she is going to outgrow, lol. She is getting chestnut colored Bear Paws instead.

I got my dd10 chocolate Bearpaws. She loves them and wears them all the time. She really wanted the light blue ones, I'm debating on getting them for her b-day in January. I paid $36 for them, no way would I spend $90 on shoes for her. She didn't care at all about the UGG name, she just wanted the classic style.

My dd7 has Target knock-offs, but I didn't try to pass them off at real Uggs, as there are girls in her class who have real ones, and would definitely point our her error!

I have had uggs for 4 years & love them.
Just got bear paws & love them also!
You can bet she'll love them!

I just bought my DD 11 two pairs of Bearpaws at Famous Footwear this weekend for $60. They were BOGO 1/2 off, plus I had a 20% off total purchase coupon. She had wanted real Uggs until she realized that it may take until January or February for her to save enough for one pair, or she could get two pairs as xmas gifts from her grandparents! Her thinking changed very quickly;)

I have UGGs and so does my 6 year old son. I always buy they a size up for him so they last longer. He does not seem to mind or notice they are a little big. He had his first pair at 4 - I think - I am about to list them on Ebay in fact. They are a size 12 and a light blue.

Also you can find Uggs at Marshalls normally around christmas. They are usually last years colors. I picked up some fun lilac purple and a blue pair last year. I see pink there every year. I do not agree that EMUs feel the same. They are much thinner and not as soft. I also see those at Marshalls btw.

I just got the same boots made by Skeetchers on Shoebuy. I started at 98.00 for 2 pair. I put in a code and took off 25%, they knocked off 7.00 for signing up for emails and I did it through Sunshine Rewards so I get 9% cash back through them. The final price for each was 33.00 and free shipping. They came in all the colors.

Thanks for all your help.

I don't think my DD even really thought about Uggs, until her BF gave her a pair that were to small for her. My DD has not taken them off since!

I think she will be just as happy with the Bearpaws or the Emu's. I feel better about spending $50 on a pair of boots compared to over $90.

It sounds like the Bearpaws will work for her. Although i may check Marshalls now, just in case!

sorry but IMO Emus do not compare to Uggs. With that said I am sure the payless brand does not either. I ordered my son some chocolate brown ones from zappos.com yesterday, the arrived today. He did not take them off all night and fell asleep with them on. We wear them like slippers around the house and also outside. Of coruse we keep them really clean and water proof them as well. Norstroms.com has them cheaper than other websites right now with free shipping. The bear paw ones are on overstock.com

however please note the complaints. Remember you get what you pay for. I am on my 4th season with the first uggs I ever bought.

These boots are a great deal compared to Uggs, definitely. However, you do sacrifice some quality for the price. The boots definitely do the job as a functional shoe, but not for more than one season. The size runs on the small side, so order a size up.

I got these boots a couple months ago. They are very warm, very cute, and very comfortable. The only thing is that they are not tough boots. I have a friend who has had real UGG boots for over a year and has never had any problems. The sole of my Bear Paw boots started pulling away from the rest of the boot about 3 months of wearing them. I still want them and I would like to buy more because they are such a great price compared ot uggs. But dont expect them to hold up for very long.

DD19 has said her Bear Paws are not as long lasting as Uggs, but for an 8 year old that is going to grow out of them quickly, Bear Paws or Emus will be just fine.

I purchased (3) pair of BearPaws at Off Broadway Shoes for $39.99. I bought for my oldest DDs. Youngest who is 8 will be getting boots with lots of fur on the outside from somewhere else, because she has those on her Christmas list. Now, if I could just find those..........................

Emu owner here. I love them. Cheaper than Uggs and that's all that matters to me. You have to waterproof them though. I found out the hard way that they are not waterproof. Walked the dog inthe rain and ended up loosing 2 days of my Emus while they dried. I really missed them!!! :lmao:

they run small. You go up a size is what I have read everywhere.
