Uggs/Bearpaws/Emu

sorry but IMO Emus do not compare to Uggs. With that said I am sure the payless brand does not either. I ordered my son some chocolate brown ones from zappos.com yesterday, the arrived today. He did not take them off all night and fell asleep with them on. We wear them like slippers around the house and also outside. Of coruse we keep them really clean and water proof them as well. Norstroms.com has them cheaper than other websites right now with free shipping. The bear paw ones are on overstock.com

however please note the complaints. Remember you get what you pay for. I am on my 4th season with the first uggs I ever bought.

These boots are a great deal compared to Uggs, definitely. However, you do sacrifice some quality for the price. The boots definitely do the job as a functional shoe, but not for more than one season. The size runs on the small side, so order a size up.

I got these boots a couple months ago. They are very warm, very cute, and very comfortable. The only thing is that they are not tough boots. I have a friend who has had real UGG boots for over a year and has never had any problems. The sole of my Bear Paw boots started pulling away from the rest of the boot about 3 months of wearing them. I still want them and I would like to buy more because they are such a great price compared ot uggs. But dont expect them to hold up for very long.

While this may be true, I could not justify spending the money on Uggs for children who will outgrow them within a year. I got the knock offs from Payless for my dds for $20 & I only expect them to get a year out of them because of wear & tear & their feet will grow.

Now for an adult, that is a different story. Our feet shouldn't really outgrow the shoes & I can totally justify the cost since I would get several years out of the boots.

Ok so I have purchased and returned all 3 for DD10. This is what she had to say about them all Uggs (made in China) were scratchy and didn't feel right on her foot, Emus (also made in China) felt cheap and junky, Bearpaws were comfy but also junky feeling . She pretty much hated them all, she had Skechers a few years ago that she loved but can't find them anymore they were a fur not shearling. She may just not like shearling who knows

We have now ordered Timberland Kids' Mukluk
http://www.shoebuy.com/timberland-mukluk-jewel-tones/274596/590443

Will post how those work out.

Best thing to do if possible is have your kid try them all on and the payless and target and other versions too and see which ones feel the best to them. If you can afford to tie up the money order them all and then send back the ones they don't like then you know what to try and find a deal on. It really isn't a bargain if they don't wear them no matter what kind of deal us Moms find :-)

Also this is the best code I have ever found for shoebuy, it's good for 25% and if you sign up to be a member you get another 10% and if you go through ebates (they pay great, never a problem) you get another 10% cash back from them. And free shipping and return shipping.

I have no idea what this code is from found it on net and it works Shoebuy does not carry Uggs or Emus they do carry Bearpaws and some others that are similar.

25% off code EMLPRIVATESALE08

I did manage to find some uggs for $89, but i thinking i am going to opt for either bearpaws or Emu, unless i find a really great deal. Maybe when she can wear a size 4 i will buy uggs for her and then we will be able to share them!!!

Ok i have find some Emu's for what i think is a great price $33, after a 25% discount. Does anyone know if the Emu's sold at Sports Authority are the same as the ones sold at Zappos? The ones at Zappos are Orchid pink and the ones at Sports Authority are baby pink. They have the Emu tag on them etc, but they seem to be the only place that has baby pink? If i am not getting her Uggs i would like to think i could get her the real Emus!

I have gotten 6 pairs of Emu's in the last 2 months. I love them. I found them at finishline online for cheap (plus I can wear childrens sizes-another plus). I bought 2 colors for myself, DD (9) and my MIL for Christmas. My DD practically sleeps in hers. I wear mine 90% of the time. I have waterproofed all of them and they are doing great. They are so warm and comfy.

I think for a child Uggs are ridiculous but thats MHO. My inlaws have Uggs for their 3 DD's and they are aged 3, 5 and 14. Thats their choice.

I have a friend that has 3 pair of Uggs and hers are scratchy feeling.:confused3

I did buy a pair of the knockoffs from Target for DD and they stunk after a week and now she wont wear them.

I just bought dd10 some bearpaws for Christmas. They came yesterday and I think they look great. I held them against come of her shoes and the sizing looked right on. I ordered from Amazon and I think it was $37. The one problem I ran into when looking for them is that lots of places have the shoes in adult sizes but not kids. My dd wears a 2 so it took a bit more searching than normal.

I just sold my DS size 12 Uggs on ebay for $75 used. If you take care of them them hold their value. Funny thing is I bought them at Marshall's for $65! To each his own. We live in Chicago and it gets darn cold. If can spend the money for Uggs for me, then certainly my child is worth it too. However, I do take really good care of both of our Uggs. I waterproof them and clean them a lot. I am paying for the quality of the boot. The quality of the others pales by comparision. I am debating buying a pair of sand colored ones and to be honest in a light color like that I am tempted to buy the EMUS or some other brand because I am afraid I will ruin them and not be happy with my purchase.

I love my UGG's. They are like walking on clouds is how I describe them. I never want to take them off. They keep my feet warm and are so soft and comfy.

My mom bought DD (5) a pair of UGG boots also. She loves that her and mommy match. She loves hers too. She wants to hear them all day everyday. I stress to her to take very good care of them because I do plan to sell them on ebay next year. ;)

My 7 year old has bear paws and she loves them. I just bought a pair for my 8 year old. They seem to be comfortable. My daughter wears them every chance she gets.

How do you waterproof these type of boots? TIA. :goodvibes

They sell sprays to waterproof. I bought my Uggs at The Walking Company and they had their own brand of spray there. I'm sure other stores have something similar.

Hope this helps!

Thank you. I'm going to look out for it the next time I'm at a shoe store.

Does anyone know about the sizing on the emus? DD is a size 13/1 in regular shoes and has a pair of size 2 UGG's that her friend gave her. Do i go for the size 2 in the Emu's or do i go to a size 1?

I have Emus and ordered an 8 which is my usual size. I do have some extra room but they are not falling off or anything. I think if I went 1/2 a size smaller they would be uncomfortable.

For my DD though, I ordered a size up just in case she can wear them next year as well.
