Uggs are all the rage, but....

Thanks for the replies everyone~
My DD is 12 and she is in 7th grade, but goes to private school so she wears a uniform to school everyday, including shoes. If she were wearing them everyday, I would consider spending the $ for the Uggs.
It comes down to if she wants Uggs then she compromises somewhere else.
She has other things on her list she really wants. I asked her if she would be willing to compromise on the brand and get other things or if she wanted the Uggs and give up somewhere else. She was willing to compromise on the brand, so I was just wondering if the quality of the Emus were worth the price. They are on sale at Dick's Sporting Goods this week, so for a good price, I think we'll go with that since she won't be wearing them everyday.

It looks like they will be fine for her purpose. Now DD7 wants them too!:)

Now if only I could get myself a pair of Uggs! :cloud9:

Macy's is having their frinds and family 25% off sale and you can use it on EMU's.

My kids think real Uggs are a total waste of money. I must be doing something right.:lmao: My 12 year old saw a pair at the store and was howling with laughter about paying nearly $200 for a little tag that says "Uggs."

She's got a pair of Bearpaws that have been great. I think I paid $40 at Marshalls.

My 8 year old has been wearing a pair of Fuggs from Target and is perfectly happy with them. I just had to buy her a new pair as she outgrew the ones I bought last February. They held up fine, but she doesn't wear them daily.

A few weeks ago I found a pair of emu boots at TJMaxx for $29.99. I only saw one pair and it was exactly the size I needed. When I gave them to DD she was so happy because she wanted emu over uggs. That made me even happier!

I live in SoCal in the OC and everyone wears UGGS from babies to adults. I love them BUT I will not pay $150 or whatever the cost is for UGGS. I am new to the area from Boston.....the girls/ladies wear them all year long. (My feet would sweat.) Not me, I may wear them in January and that is it.....so after watching Oprah one day, I printed off my 50% off Payless coupon and headed there and bought these boots for $12.00. I love them. :goodvibes
