Ugggg! Disney Switched EMH Days

I think that makes a lot more sense. I just don't see them issuing FPs in the MK, after delaying doing so to get it right, then moving A/E before the 11th now.

That said, if they want to be a vacation destination allowing you to "lock in" various piece of your trip as early as 180 days out, they need to 1) get their act together and be ready 180 days out or 2) move the dates all closer to a time frame they can be sure of.
There's been speculation that the ride could open before the meet and greet so I'm sure they won't be meeting in Epcot before June 12th....but the ride could open earlier. Not saying it will...just that they don't have to open the same day.

And there's one thing that's become apparent to me this year is that presumptive planning doesn't work at WDW nearly as well as it used to,

I find that a bit ironic considering the emphasis that Disney World has placed on all of this pre-planning. If Disney wants everyone to make all these preplans, then the least they can do is have their schedules finalized at the 180 day mark. Disneyland does a lot of the last minute changes too, but their schedules aren't released until appx 6 weeks in advance and dining isn't available til 60 days either...it's a lot less of an issue there than it is at WDW because of that.

Completely agree!

Heads up to people with early June vacations.....I got a notification from the Dibb that my Disney Studios AM EMH day on June 5th has been swapped out with Epcot and is now on June 9th instead. In the days of paper FPs, this wouldn't bother me nearly as much, but I picked all of my FP+s based on being in those parks on the original EMH days. It really irritates me that we need plan our ADRs and FPs so far in advance(yes, I know we don't NEED to) and then Disney switches something as important to planning as EMH days. Thanks, Disney! :(
I must admit that this drives me nuts -- way more than just the regular hours changing!!  :furious:

Drives me nuts too!!!
I think many of us are able to roll with what Disney throws at us, and move on. Okay, we all get hours can change, and RoL ran into serious tech issues etc, but what is happening now is like Disney telling us, "sorry we are in over our heads, and really don't know what we're doing, and hopefully at some point in time we'll figure it out.' :confused3 Disney knows we plan around EMH. We wrap park days, ADRs, and FPs around EMH, and then they come along and pull the rug out from under us....what the heck???? As it stands now, we cannot count on any of our plans staying put.
Why even promote advance planning any longer when park hours and events are so unpredictable. Vent over.
On a lighter note, happy Mother's Day to all our wonderful Disboard moms!

It is really frustrating. They used to OCCASIONALLY change EMH days... now it seems far more common.

I agree that it's a little nutty to tell people to plan 180 days out and they can change something like EMH with a couple of weeks' notice. We are people who do plan around EMH (except our running trips that are more dictated by the races) -- so this is really disruptive.

I'm hoping it's just all/mostly them trying to figure out NEW things like what is happening with RoL and their ticketed early and late events.

Doesn't make it any easier for me to plan our Aug and Nov trips, though!!!

All I wish is they would get all the changes made, including updating hours and be done so we all know what to do on what day. All these changes are making our heads spin. I know I'm impatient :crazy2:

Agreed. It's been so frustrating trying to plan for July, I'm actually considering postponing until December.

LOL! And there were still people who had preferred the "old" 180! Just goes to show that you can't please everyone!!!

90 days out with CRT when it only had princesses at breakfast was BRUTAL! I felt like I won the lottery when we finally got in.

That was back when they told you to synchronize your clocks with the one at the Naval Observatory to maximize your odds. For real.

So i vaguely recalled that it used to be that ADRs were made 90 days out, with the exception of CRT. But i wasbn't certain. And when I went looking...

Well hey, I was right!

Well, it WAS 180 on our first family trip in 2005, then they did 90 for a while and then BACK to 180.

I feel like I always had a better chance of getting what I wanted at 180 because fewer people will still plan that far out... even with the planning tools, etc.

I wouldn't want to go back to 90. I mean, for my Apr trip things changed just DAYS before we left!!!! Not sure 90 would be much better. Hours still change within 90, etc.
