Ughhhh...those little elastics are sooo annoying
I've been dealing with braces for the last year and a half and I can't wait till they come off !!!

My DD went through a couple of years of braces, and it was a pain...but as long as it seems, it's not that long a time, and soon you'll have the prettiest smile in town!

Of course, that means that now you will HAVE TO SMILE!

I'm not going to smile , and you can't make me !!! :lmao: :rotfl:

All three of my girls have been in braces, can you say ouch$$$

I don't remember too many problems with the rubber bands but my middle daughter had an applicance called a herbst. It was a contraption they put in the back of her mouth on each side that was attached upper and lower jaws that pulled her jaw forward whenever she opened her mouth. Now when that thing came apart it was a nightmare. It would come apart when she yawned. I never did learn to put the pieces back together. Reaching in someone's mouth grosses me out. The ladies were very nice about my stopping by with my daughter to put her back together.

AUGGGGGGHHHHH!!!

I had braces for 6 years! I hated those rubberbands and the night brace!
yuck, yuck, yuck.

Now, I do have a very pretty smile...

Okay, yes the rubber bands were a pain and every time I had to put one in I hoped it wouldn't snap. But what I really hated was the wax they gave you to cover up the metal part in your mouth. So not only did you have metal in your mouth, but also rubber, and and wax....geez.

The things you have to go through to have straight teeth.

I lost count how many times I swallowed the wax by accident...lol

I went to the orthodontist for an adjustment today , he put some e-chain contraption on my top row of teeth and now I'm in pain...ughhh :headache:

I do that all the time :lmao: its like on minute the wax i seeping the one metal thing from cutting you and the next its like where did it go?

Haha, I feel you caty. I got braces my senior year of high school. Not only did I swallow wax, but I did everything you were not supposed to do (i.e. chewing ice and gum). Apparently I have too much of an oral fixation for real dental work (all you psych students know what I'm talking about). That earned me a lot of visits to the ortho to fix broken wires and stuff. I still could not seem to learn my lesson though.

After breaking both my top and bottom retainer, dealing with an impacted incisor, and extracting my wisdom teeth two weeks ago, I'm finally done with everything after five years. You will be too, pretty soon, it just sucks right now. I've found that getting them off is the worst part, particularly if the tips of your teeth are still grooved from them coming in. However, it's smooth sailing from there.
