UG question

Hi everyone,

I am planning a trip May 10-18 2006, and have just finished reading the UG. I'm not trying to plan out every last detail (it is, after all, supposed to be a vacation :) ), but would at least like to plan which park we will be at for most of the day (just so I can make some ADRs that make some sort of sense, proximity-wise). We'll be able to park-hop and all of that, and are probably going to rent a car, so I suppose it won't matter *that* much, but I'd still like some sort of idea.

My question is probably one you've seen a lot, but, would anyone in their right mind go to the MK on a saturday? The UG says it's the 'least bad' option. Can anyone share their own experiences with MK on a Saturday? I guess that'll be my determining factor.

Thanks!

Sarah

I have always avoided MK on Sat. I plan on taking UG's advice this trip. I have planned our days using the best day/worst day recommendations and the crowd level prediction. We are going to MK on Sat 12/17. We are getting park hoppers and will probably leave and go to MGM. It has been my experience that MK always gets crowded later in the day. Arrive early!! We may attempt to go back to MK for Spectro and Wishes that night. If it is crazy we will leave and try to catch Spectro and Wishes on Mon. I will post when I get back about how MK was on Sat.!

This is to test whether or not you are a True UG Believer. :worship:

Actually we ended up in MK on a Saturday morning last year (early Dec).
I had planned to go to AK, but DS8 really wanted to go to MK and I relented. It wasn't nearly as bad as I anticipated, but then we left around noon and didn't try to do the most popular rides. The ones we did do (Jungle Cruise, Pirates, Buzz) had very short lines. I think it's worth a try! As they point out, time of year and touring plan are more important than day of the week.

We arrived last May at WDW very early on a Sat. Since we were going to be there 7 full days, and with since the MYW tickets only charged $3 for the 7th day, we figured, why not try MK that first day, since we had only paid in reality $3 per person for admission that day and whatever we got done, great. We even had UG touring plan in hand. However, when we got to the park and saw the wait times on the board, we threw the touring plan away and had a blast. Hardly any wait times. Nothing over 20 minutes. Most we 10-15 minutes. Used FP for a few rides, but sometimes, the standby line was just as fast. So for us, the UG predictions were right on about Saturdays. Suggest though that you check their web site: touringplans.com to get update predictions and best day recommendations for when you are going. Have a great trip. :cool1:

Thanks for the responses- I think I'll give it a shot, and try MK on Saturday. I'll definitely take a touring plan with me, and if it's still really bad, I've left a day open to do whatever we missed/want to do again. I made a dining reservation that day for CP, so that's even more incentive to give the park a go on a Saturday ;)
