Uber's to resorts

What are the rules about taking an Uber to a resort. We want to Uber to Contemporary and walk to Magic Kingdom but I can't imagine I'm the first to try this trick.

Uber/Lyft can drop off & pick up at all resorts. Lots of people do it a CR.

I was wondering this too. We are staying at the Beach Club and doing the KTTK tour. I'd like to just take an Uber to the Contemporary and walk to MK.
Anyone have any reports that have done this? Any issues?

On the Everything You Wanted To Know About Uber/Lyft thread the first post includes this statement:

"Dropping guests at resorts is also easy, but you still must be staying there or have a dining reservation."

Done it often, no problems at all.
Driver informs guard they are dropping off, guard asks to see their DL, waves car in

And the Uber Drivers know that this is the procedure, and they are ready for it. Both times we entered resorts in ubers, the driver had his license in his hand and ready to show before we even got to the resort gate. The guard glanced at it and waved us in.

Yep, it used to be a bit varied, when the service first started up around Disney. Procedures varied as to if they wanted driver info or passenger info. But in our last few trips it's been very consistent. No guard wanted our band, even the guard at our Resort. They all wanted nothing but the DL of the driver and the drivers were indeed always ready for it.
