We are staying at Bonnet Creek and were wondering if anyone knows if you can take an Uber to the Boardwalk and just walk around.
Can they drop you off at front door?

Maybe... The reason for that response is the resorts around BW (as well as around MK) have turned some guests away that don't have an ADR. Is this happening now? I can't say, but reports from a few months ago by some seemed to suggest it was. If it happens then just have your driver drop you off at the Swan or Dolphin.

Yes, Uber can drop you off at BW.

It honestly depends on the guard working at the gate. Some will let you in without a reservation, others will not.

The guard at the gate is controlling who accesses the resort and is most concerned about people trying to park there who don't have business there. This isn't a concern for people being dropped off.

Actually, it can be. I have been driving for Uber and Lyft in the area for the past few months. Many of the guards will ask me what the guest is there for, whether they’re staying at the hotel, dining there, etc.

Agreed.
Last week we took Uber's 4 times back to our resort (WL), and we were never once asked for anything to identify us, such as magic bands or ADR's. Driver put down his /her window and said "dropping off" and in a few cases they held up a ID of some sort, and we were waved thru.
Also took 1 Uber to the Contemporary, again no issues and we were waved thru.
Same experience last Feb. when we stayed at OKW.
Prior to Covid - if that has any bearing on this conversation - we had same experience.
Not saying this will be everyone's experience, but it was ours two years in a row now.

Interested in what your experience has been in terms of being turned away and not allowed to drop off. Is that more likely near park opening? At near-park resorts, monorail resorts, Skyliner resorts? Does having a QS mobile order change anything? It seems we have anecdotal reports from riders, not so much from drivers, so it would be helpful to hear your experience. I prefer to give accurate guidance here!

ETA Is there a driver ID that shows the guard you’re truly a driver and not just claiming to be dropping off in order to park?

I have not yet been turned away, but the guests I have been driving have all either been guests of those resorts or had dining reservations. I haven’t had anyone who just wanted to be dropped off at a random resort.
I do have the Uber and Lyft decals on my car, and they usually ask to see my driver’s license, but there is no formal ID card issued by Uber or Lyft. Of course, I can show them the app. One time I was asked for the guest’s name that I was picking up.

Glad to see there is once again a CURRENT driver posting. Some of us used to drive, but my experience was in Miami and I stopped 3 years ago.

On another board with a completely different subject, one poster was getting upset with being contradicted and it turned out they were posting about their experiences in 2004! Times do change. Sometimes old info is still valid, but often it is not.

Current is good!

That works for sure,
thanks for the info!

Last October, we wanted to enter via the IG because we wanted to head straight to France, so we took an Uber from OKW to BC. We were turned away at the gate and told we could not be dropped off at the BC. We explained that we were merely walking through, not stopping, not using any transportation, just walking on through....nope..no go. We had to turn around and our driver ended up dropping us off at the Dolphin (or Swan?). Now that I know the "policy", we won't be trying that again, but it seems a bit extreme. I understand the idea behind it, but as a DVC owner, I don't understand why we cannot even walk through the grounds of another property, especially when Disney does not provide resort-to-resort (direct) transportation. We were in a clearly marked Uber so it was obvious that we were not going to take up a parking space.
