I'm debating between Uber and renting a car for an upcoming trip. We will be at Disney for two days and then at the Gaylord for a few days for a conference. I've not used Uber before and would appreciate input on what seems more economical and/or convenient.
Our flight arrives at MCO after 10 PM, so we plan to collect our luggage and take MDE. On the day we transfer to the Gaylord, we will pick up a rental car and use that for going out to eat once or twice a day as well as a half day of shopping/touring. We would return it to the airport. Car rental is about $150 and there would be $60 in parking fees.
If we don't rent a car, I expect we would use Uber for two trips out a day from the Gaylord to the International Drive or Disney area, a day at an outlet mall, and our trip back to MCO. I think Gaylord also has a shuttle to the parks that we could use for getting to meals, but it would probably be time consuming.
I like the idea of having my own car to come and go as I please, but that's partly because I've had bad experiences with taxis. Is Uber better and more efficient? Any thoughts?
