Uber to Hollywood Studios Rope Drop

Planning to Uber to Hollywood Studios for rope drop tomorrow morning which includes early entry @ 8 a.m. What time will they start to let resort guests in? My main question is, what’s the earliest we can arrive via Uber without getting dropped off at Speedway? Thanks to all who assist others on this site - very much appreciated!

The Skyliner starts running before the parking lot opens, so if you really want to get aggressive about it, you could Uber to Caribbean Beach at 7am and be one of the first in line at the Skyliner station.

Not in my experience. They usually won't let you park without a reservation, but getting dropped off has always been fine for me.

I did exactly what @CarolynFH did above in November - worked great, no hiccups or issues with security.

The Riviera does, for sure, they won't let you in.

Disney resorts can be variable - as above, Riviera is pretty difficult. There are no parking guards at Swan and Dolphin because the actual parking lots are behind gates that require payment at exit, and a vehicle dropping someone off does not need to enter the parking lot. Swan is the closer of the two to DHS, and if I were going to Uber and then walk, I'd go to Swan.

Yes - actually, the original question was how early could rideshare drop them off there. And I don't think anyone answered it!

Who's getting dropped off at Speedway? They had a designated drop off section for rideshares at the rear of the DHS bus stops. Pretty close and the driver went in with the buses. I was not there long before rope drop but I don't see why they won't let rideshares in as soon as the buses can come in.

I think the purpose of the question is about the timing of the drop off related to when the parking lot opens. I haven't experienced it myself, but I think the parking lot generally opens an hour before the official park open. So for an 0830 park open, 0730 parking lot opening?

Thanks all - got dropped at Rideshare at 7:32, entered the park and got in line for Tower. Done on Tower at 8:20 and my son is in line for Aerosmith without me - it beats me up too much. Thanks again to all who took the time to reply!

Back when people had to be physically inside the park to try for a RotR BG, rideshare vehicles were required to enter through the regular guest parking lot lanes (did not have a designated drop off section near the bus stops) and weren't allowed to enter until the parking lot opened for guests. To avoid being turned away and having to circle around to re-enter the parking lot, some people had rideshare drop them off at the Speedway next to BW and then walked to DHS using the walkway along E. Buena Vista Dr. and the canal. Not everyone is aware yet that now rideshare enters with the buses and drops off near the bus stops.

How long was the wait for Tower at that time?
