Which is more accessible and better priced? I did look at fare estimates online and they seem about the same. We will need an XL bc 5 people. Will be using to/from airport and to travel to/from parks

The estimates will usually be the same on RideGuru. However, on the actual Uber/Lyft apps, you will get a more accurate fare estimate before you order your ride. As you probably know, both companies fares are demand-driven, so they may vary depending on how busy it is -- and that will usually not be equal for both companies.

That fare estimate will also show the anticipated time to pickup in minutes, and in some markets you'll also see an anticipated ARRIVAL time at your destination. Don't confuse the two! Anywhere at WDW, you should get pickup within 5-10 minutes.

Uber has a greater market share and many more drivers generally, and that usually means quicker pickups. But that may not necessarily be true at WDW. Many drivers drive for both companies simultaneously, and as busy as WDW is I would expect pickup times to be about the same.

Once you actually order the ride, a driver will accept your ride request and from that point on you will be able to see that vehicle driving to you on the app...with an estimate of their drive time. That estimate will be much more accurate than the one you got prior to ordering the ride, and the car will often arrive before the time shown.

I don't recommend this, but you could order a ride from both companies at the same time. But be careful with that. If you see a significant price or pickup time difference, be sure to cancel the one you don't want immediately. If you hesitate, you could get hit with a cancellation fee.

I mainly use Lyft in/around Orlando but usually will look at arrival time and price estimate on both Uber and Lyft app to see if there is a big difference.

We stayed off property in September and used Uber and Lyft exclusively to get around. Both were about the same in terms of wait time to get a car, so we just price compared and went with the lowest one at that moment. Most of the time it was Lyft but a few times Uber had a slightly better fare. Excellent drivers with both services every time.

I was at DL last week and flew into SNA. I checked both Lyft and Uber, Lyft was around $25, Uber was around $30. So I chose Lyft. Coming back, I left Grand California around 5:45am. I checked both, Lyft was a little less but the time estimate was 9 minutes, where Uber was 2 minutes. So I chose Uber. Both were good rides.

Out of curisoity, are Uber / Lyft drivers able to pick up / drop off people within DW (e.g. at parks and hotels) without paying the parking fee when entering?

(i.e. if we are staying at FW, can we get Uber to pick us up or will they be charged the $20 parking fee to get to FW?)

Our drivers never had to pay parking fees at the hotels or parks. At the resorts they pick up/drop off at the main lobby (so they aren't really using the parking lots) and each park + Disney Springs has a designated rideshare/dropoff/pickup location.

You found the prices about the same because they are about the same. I go back and forth between the 2 regularly, usually picking the one that has given us a promo. I'd say a VAST majority of the drivers that pick us up have logos for both services in the window.

Yes, just like any regular private citizen can do. For instance, Mom wants to drop off their kids for a day in the park. All parks have a drop off point and those dropping off never have to pay

No parking fees, but there are some limitations as to where they are allowed to drop off. For example, some resorts restrict entry to Disney employees and resort guests -- so at those resorts, the driver would have to drop you off at the main lobby or a designated dropoff area. I believe FW is one of those situations.

Also, at MK, the dropoff spot is TTC for Uber/Lyft, but the MinnieVans can go all the way to the bus dropoff. (The workaround is to enter the Contemporary as your destination and do the short walk to MK.)

If FW means Fort Wilderness, know that they can pick up only at the Outpost, by the Guest check-in building. They cannot pick up at campsites or at the Settlement.

For reference, there are 3 places that a guest driving their own car can go that Uber/Lyft can't.
CSR individual buildings (at least I think the internal gates are still in use) If the guest is in the car, returning to the resort, they can get in using the guest's band. They just can't get in to pick up
