Uber or Lyft with collapsable scooter

We're staying off site for the first time in May and would rather not pay for a rental car, parking, etc. Is there a way to ensure that they will be able to fit my collapsable scooter in their trunk when they pick us up? Has anyone tried this?

Never tried with a scooter. Since I've used a scooter, we have stayed on site, to avoid this issue.
