Originally i was going to a use a car service from MCO to USF. However, i never used a rise share service. It seems that it may save $$$. What is your first hand experience with the following.

1) UBER or LYFT?
2) Family of 4 (1 large suite case 3 carryons) - what type of vehicle type do we need?
3) coming into MCO at 3:30 pm on a Sat in early Dec. - do i need to worry about surge pricing?
4) what did you pay before tip?

thank you...

Either one. Put both apps on your phone and price check before ordering a ride. Prices and promotions vary, so they are rarely the same price. Most drivers drive for both companies, so there is little difference.

XL, or possibly Uber Comfort.

Regular Lyft and Uber X are for a maximum of 4 passengers, so you could get a Suburban or a Prius.

You want much more room because of the luggage, so I'd do XL, but I would try Uber Comfort first.

With XL, you will get a minivan or an SUV capable of carrying 6 passengers. You might get a minivan of SUV with Uber Comfort, and the price will be lower for the same vehicle.

No, I don't think so.

What someone paid a few months ago (or years, lol) is irrelevant. You can get an estimate from RideGuru (check the SUV prices for the proper classification), and you will get very accurate quotes on your app before you order the ride.

Also, check this thread for a ton of additional info -- but watch out for the posting dates. Rideshare info is a constantly-moving target, so what someone posted six months ago may not still be true.

Also, what are the ages of your kids? Will any of them need child seats or boosters?

Thank you, for your assistance. right now on UBER it estimates the ride at $35.
are those estimates usually on target. Or are thier any hidden fees i should be aware of.

If you're checking the Uber website fare estimator, yes that should be pretty accurate. Checking on the rider app right now, I get $35.64 for Comfort and $43.34 for XL.

No hidden fees, and that estimate should also include tolls, if applicable. Generally the fare estimate you see is what you actually pay. Exceptions would be if there is some major traffic drama, or if you change your destination after requesting the ride.

thank you, extremely helpful. are the ubers/lyfts redly available or is there usually a long wait?

Readily available at any airport. Most airports (including MCO) have waiting lots and there are dozens (hundreds in Miami!) of cars waiting.

Sometimes Uber will assign a ride to a driver who has just dropped a passenger at Departures. In that case, they may get to you very quickly, so don't order a ride until you have claimed any checked luggage and are where you need to be to get picked up. You should always be ready to get in the car before ordering.
