Uber/Lyft Level of Service?

I’m staying off property for the 1st time so will be using Uber or Lyft to get to the Parks. I will be using a Scooter that can be taken apart into 4 or 5 pieces.

Will the Uber/Lyft driver help me get the largest piece into the car? Also what level of service should I request to be sure that the Scooter will fit in?

I know there is bus service available but I think a car would be easier.

There may be some that will help but I wouldn't expect them to. It's outside their service norm. I've even had 1 driver who was handicapped themselves. They couldn't help with bags, which was fine for me but just shows, you never know what you'll get.
When I had my Mom with me in an ECV I used taxi instead. They have handicap ones that don't need to disassemble it.
If you can do it all yourself, then I'd do XL only. Some of the X (base) are just too small to get it in easily. Rather than risking having to cancel due to car size, stick with XL

I would use the new Uber Comfort category, because that will be a larger vehicle -- midsized sedan like a Toyota Camry or an SUV or minivan.

As Angi said, drivers are not required nor expected to assist with the disassembly and loading of scooters. Some will, some won't (either for fear of injury or liability reasons)...and some can't. So you should be prepared to do that yourself.

I suggest that you order Comfort and then call the driver immediately and tell them the situation.

If they can't or won't take the ride, you cancel quickly and you probably will not incur a cancellation fee. If you do get charged a cancellation fee, call Uber and explain and they will most likely refund the fee.

The other option would be a Mears accessible taxi.

Thanks for the reply. I can probably manage it alone but worry about damaging the car so if the driver is able to help me they might be happier too.

One of pluses for staying on property, no worries about getting around.

Still, especially because you are concerned with possibly damaging the driver's personal vehicle, please strongly consider Mears accessible taxi vans, or at least Mears. The game have a ramp that can be deployed so you can ride right in.
