Uber in the LBV/Palm Parkway

Trying to save a bit and have booked a condo in the Lake Buena Vista area. I'll have a car but will, on occasion, prefer not to drive. (I enjoy the F & W Festival VERY much!) In the past I've used either my off site resort shuttle or the Lynx public bus system. I'm thinking that Uber might be a reasonable alternative but have a few questions.

Does anyone have an idea of the approximate fare from the TTC/MK/Contemporary to the Palm Parkway hotel area? Which place would be the best pickup/drop off option? I've read the thread over on the Transportation Board but am still not clear on this.

I'm a female in her mid-50s, is safety an issue? Anyone have firsthand experience? I will be solo.

Keep in mind that Uber uses "surge" pricing at busy times, so whatever fare estimate you get could end up being understated. However, the fare estimate when you actually book the trip should be right. Lyft is another option, and they do not use surge pricing.
