Has anyone used UBER in WDW with small children? When we travel it will be 4 adults and 2 children ages 3 and 6. I was contemplating signing up for UBER to make transport from AKL to the Poly quicker and easier for a dinner reservation at Ohana but don't know what the rules are regarding car seats... Does anyone have any insight? Thanks!!

Most Uber drivers do not carry car seats and can/will refuse the ride if they see you have kids that should be in one, both for safety and the risk of fines. Uber Black will carry car seats sometimes, but I don't think that's offered around WDW. You could always request a ride and once you receive the driver's details, call them right away to let them know you'll need a car seat. They may have one but most likely won't. I'd just take a taxi since one can be requested with car seats.

Thanks for the reply. I didn't know what the laws are. I know that for a cab, we don't legally need a car seat, It sounds like my best bet is to budget extra time and take the Disney transport.

That's not the case in Florida. Children 3 and under must be in car seats. 4- and 5-year-olds must be in a booster seats. Cabs are not exempt, although cab drivers are exempt from getting a ticket - that goes to the parent or guardian.

Thanks. I was clearly unaware of Florida laws. Sounds like it's Disney transport for us.
Actually, according the car seat law, any car for hire is exempt. Some people seem to interpret one line in the law in a really strange way.

Question is, or should be, not if its legal but if it's safe. Ask yourself if you would let your kids ride in a strangers car without car seats at home?
