U 2 hot to trot, or walk, or ride rides or...?

Thanks Bridget.
Our school is very proactive in anti-bullying. Actually, my DD and one of her friends started an antibullying campaign that they are trying to take town wide. They make paper badges for anyone who signs a pledge to not bully & report bullying to an adult. I am proud of her.
I have to admit though, I felt a little bad for this little girl. I know she did do the wrong thing, but this was a pretty harsh punishment. The field trip was to Gillette Stadium (where the NE Patriots play, as well as the Revolution (soccer)) It was a sort of "behind the scene" type of tour. Some body knows some body, kind of thing. A once in a lifetime type of field trip. :( But I suppose this child won't be apt to do something like that again. It's too bad some less obvious type of bullies seem to get away with it. Stuff like a mean name calling as they bump into a kid, or one kid telling other kids not to play with someone. The kids that are constantly bullying other kids seem to know how to get away with it. I hate that type of stuff. :furious:
But, again, thanks. I am really proud of how she handled it.

Regarding the trip:
I told DS#1 that IF he pays for his summer classes in full, and shows us he is saving, we will help him pay for his trip. Hopefully, he will be able to.

Regarding DS#2's graduation gift. He mentioned to us yesterday something he would like for a graduation gift. Anyone want to guess what it is?
I'll give you a hint. It is not a party, or dinner. It is something....useful.

Ooooh another game where I can win one of D~'s fabulous bags!!!! :rotfl2:

Ummm.....so what is he going to college for? Help me out some here! lol....

:rotfl2: He is an English major with an emphasis on communication (Public relations). With a dual minor of psychology and theater.

Let me just start by saying.....that doesn't help me at all!!!!

So here's my clueless guess....power tools?

:rotfl2: you need to meet this son. :rotfl: We don't even let him use the electric pencil sharpner. :lmao:

he loves shows like... Glee, what not to wear, Once Upon a Time. maybe that will help?
He loves music from Wicked, showtunes in general. helpful?

Nope not at all.....:confused3 :lmao:

A ticket to Broadway?!?! I'm clueless..... guess I won't win D~'s bag this time.

I wanted to get him a ticket to a Broadway show. He didn't want one.
I guess it just wasn't practical enough.

Well, DS decided he wanted a nice suit. So, I went on line and ordered him one. I would have waited until he came home, but he mentioned he wanted it for his formal Ball. So, I asked a friend of mines son, since he is built very much like my son, what size his suit is. I got my son the same make, and size. ... or so I thought. Let me first say, there is a reason I am unemployable at the moment. I get confused very easily. Supposedly it is because my brain is working extra hard for me to not lose my balance. Now, that that is out.... I thought I was ordering him a slim fit. when in fact I ordered my 6' son a short suit jacket. :rotfl: Now, I grew up with 3 brothers, who I helped shop for suits more than once. I still can not believe I did this. :confused3 So, I went on and ordered the correct size. Hoping it would arrive in time for his formal ONE WEEK FROM TODAY! I just got the email. My 2nd order of the correct size jacket will be here tomorrow. My first order of the trousers, vest and the wrong size jacket will be here Monday. Not sure why the order I put in later is going to arrive earlier, but atleast they both will be here before the ball.

Now, for a little bragging, if that is okay with you all. This son whom is graduating on time. Went through ALOT as a child with kids bullying him. I mean, threats of physical harm. But, he stayed in public school, and with the help of his siblings gained friends and got involved in academic after school activities. Well, he has flourished in college. He submitted a paper to be a reader at his college commencement ceremony. He made it to the last 4 candidates. He had to go before a board of 6. 5 professors and the class president to read his paper. He wasn't chosen. But, I am so proud of him for overcoming all his fears and accomplishing this. That's all. Like I said, I bit of bragging. Not on my behalf, all I did is love him (which has always been very easy), but on his behalf. :)

I have to go back and read where I left off regarding the disney trip. I know I have to accomplish 1 more thing. Hopefully tomorrow. And I will have a decent update.
Hope everyone has a wonderful Friday!

So glad both suits will make it on time!

And hooray for your DS - that is a lot to overcome and achieve! I would be so proud too!

D~

Good Morning Dee and everyone else :thumbsup2

LOVED hearing about both your DD and your DS You should be proud for them, they sound like wonderful strong and determined people What an accomplishment for DS I find public speaking very difficult, I think most people do Your DD taking an active role against bullying and her forgiving nature, beautiful I think all of your children will go far

Now the suit :rotfl2: so laughing WITH you I could see this happening to me, glad they will be here on time

YES get on with the planning I love hearing all about it

Have a blessed day will check in later

Ruthie

Okay, update on the trip...

DS#1 is coming with us. DH & I have decided to help him a little. Atleast that is the plan. The problem now is. Lodging. All 3 boys will want separate sleeping areas. So, the accomodations at the moment are POFQ for them. Which if I am not mistaken have 2 queen beds. I am going to suggest either a family suite (IF there is one available) at a value resort or Fort Wilderness camp ground. I mentioned FWCG to DS#2 who was not exactly excited about the thought. I haven't mentioned it to DDBF yet. I hate to do this. I am wondering if they would rather DS#1 just bring a sleeping bag & crash on the floor of their room. Or I will end booking a room for DS#1 in one of the value resorts. But, that would put us in 3 different resorts for the first 3 nights. ARGGHH! DS#1 is only staying for a couple of nights. So the 2nd leg of the trip won't be an issue. Although, that wouldn't really be an issue anyway, since DH & I have a large enough room.

I think I need to call Disney, which I hate to do, and find out the best AAA rate we can get on a room that has 3 places to sleep. Well, off to dial the phone. LOL, not that anyone actually dials a phone anymore. I'm not sure my kids would even know what I meant by that. :rotfl:

I know that POR has three different sleeping areas because that's where we are thinking about staying in March when my mom comes but I know that the third sleeping "bed" is a pull down "day bed" style that may not be too big. I'll go look for pics for you. It would at least be better than the floor.

Going find pics.... :surfweb:

Here is a picture of the bed. I'm not sure of the size though. I've looked for dimensions but can't find any. It appears to be "trundle" sized.

Thank you so much for posting this Bridget. I had posted on the resort boards too. I was advised the bed is too small for an adult man. But was curious as my son is only about 5'7" 120lbs. The picture confirms though.... I don't think he would fit very well on that. Looks more like a small child size. I appreciate very much you digging that photo out & posting for me. Someone suggested Coronado. Anyone know anything about that one? :thumbsup2

I am off to bed. I thought I would have more to post tonight. I was hoping to get the new resort booked & DS#1 flight booked, but that didn't happen.

Yes, I'd be concerned about that bed - even if your DS is smaller. I was thinking of doing this for the girls and I at one time, but I don't even think Victoria would fit on that??

I know the Poly has the futon type day bed... If Disney releases a code - it might be a decent deal?

D~

Thanks. I wish Disney would release a code for our trip. For now we are using the AAA code. Which atleast is something.

Today I switched resorts. DS#1 is in & out of the house so quickly lately it is hard to get him to commit to a time frame. Between not being able to talk with DD around, and his busy schedule....
He atleast told me he would only be staying 3 nights. 20th - 23rd.
Yesterday I had the option of booking 2 different airlines for under $100. for the trip down. But, for him to fly Jetblue, he would have had the same flight as us. Which of course means he would spoil the surprise of meeting DD at the restaurant for her bday dinner. But, we thought he could pretend to be driving us to the airport. So DD's big bday surprise would (hopefully) go something like this:

DH/me - "Little Miss. M. where would you like to eat for your bday tonight?"
Miss M. - "Be Our Guest"
us - "okay. big brother can you drive us to the airport?"
big brother - "sure"
Miss. M - "really? really? really? etc. etc.

then we drive the apprx. 1 1/2 hr. to the airport. We park in long term parking. (Miss. M. Would never notice)

then instead of big brother saying good bye, he would say...."surprise Miss. M. I've decided I can't miss your bday dinner....I'm coming with you"

Sound great right? Except this is where we think DD would get sad DD#1 & DS#2 aren't joining us. But, hopefully, she would get over that quickly. And then there is that surprise when they walk into the restaurant in BoG.
So, technically DD would get, the trip as a surprise, one of her siblings, then the other 2 & DDBF joining us as surprises. I think it would be wonderful.
The other option is"
all the same conversation except instead of DS surprising DD then, he would take a Southwest flight out of the same airport. This option would mean DH, myself & DD would have to wait around the airport an extra hour, because DS's flight is about an hour before ours.
I think we can pull off either as far as the surprise goes. I just wish DS would decide which he wants to do. BECAUSE, the JB flight went up $30. today. I am hoping that is because of the weekend rates & it will come down again mmid week. But, if it doesn't, that makes the decision making easier. Although, we all prefer JB.

Now, on with the changes in ressies.
Because DS#1 is joining us. I had to change the boys resort. They are all mid 20's and...well their own beds would be the best option. I think I already covered that.
So, today I called Disney. 2x actually. The first gentleman, basically told me to go online and check. That Disney has so many hotels, there is no way he could check for me. I nicely told him I understand, but I went online & although POR lists it as a 5 person hotel, the 5th bed is much too small for my adult sons. He seemed a little more cooperative. He (as well as someone on these wonderful boards) suggested Coronado Springs. He suggested a JR. suite. I thanked him & advised I was going to ask my sons. Which I of course was.
Then I grabbed the Disney mail that came in my sons name 2 days ago (the son that is at college). I did something I NEVER do. I opened it without his permission (he was taking a final exam at school). Low & behold it was the confirmation for the POFQ room I had reserved. AND the deposit was due....YESTERDAY!! How could I forget that. Like I say....there is a reason I am currently unemployable. I was so angry at myself. I forgot to call back with the deposit info. So, I called Disney again. I got a very helpful woman this time. She looked at a few different resorts. Checked and confirmed that yes, the previous reservation had been canceled. BUT, she assured me I could get it again today, if I decided to. She asked if she could use the info off the canceled ressie to ck for availability at Coronado Springs Jr. suite. I confirmed. So she did. And she advised me there was not a suite avail. at CS.
So, I figured I would just go back to the drawing board, and see what I can come up with.

Well, I guess I will leave you all with a cliff hanger.
I will check in tomorrow. :wave2:

1- I think you are being WAY too hard on yourself ( whether it is buying the wrong suit size or forgetting to make as payment) you have a very full plate (fun plate but full all the same) 3 "kids" graduating from college ...pulling off DD WDW birthday surprise etc etc trying to plan on the q-tee and having to try to catch and hold down the older kids to straighten it all out....that's very hard

2- I REALLY like the idea of DS telling DD at the airport that he is going too, I don't think she will be sad I think she will be thrilled

3- Got your email :flower3: love you

4- Goodnight fellow night owl I will be turning in pretty soon too

I was going to log off & noticed you posted. I was going to ask you if you were having trouble sleeping. Hoping PT isn't causing you pain.
Thank you for the kind words. I sometimes get frustrated that I simply can't do what I used to be able to do. multi-tasking and such. I am not that hard on myself usually. But, I do still feel I have to explain to others. I have to get past that.
love to you as well.
goodnight.

OK - I just want to say that both of you are so inspirational to me... Both of you have overcome so much, and if I could handle life as well as the two of you do - I would consider myself successful.

What is more important than anything, as a human being, is the care - love - and compassion you have for others. Your character, above anything else, is what I love about both of you. :grouphug:

That is all.

D~
