Tyra banks reveals new figure

Yup, she does. Super.

I much prefer her in photos, than on television.

She does look great, but I think the before is pretty good, too!

I think she is so pretty. I don't like watching her though, her voice can kind of get to me... But congratulations to her for losing the weight. She looks great.

I dunno, I mean when she was blasted about her weight, she went on a National tirade about how she was a healthy size for her height and how she's not modelling anymore so doesn't feel the need to starve herself and how she is trying to be a more "positive" "healthy" role model for girls.

So what does she do immediately after the bad pub on her weight? Immediately goes on a diet.

I just find her and Oprah a bit hypocritical.

So... the picture of her in the gold dress is her when she was... "fat"? If that's everyone's idea of fat, then I'm in trouble :sad2:

I was kinda thinking that the only thing that made her look bad in that gold dress was her light-colored hair. Other than that I thought she looked just lovely. :confused3

I was thinking the very same thing. Lots of celebs (Nia Vardalos (sp), Jennifer Love Hewitt (sp again), Kelly Osborn, Tyra, for example) claim to be proud of their "curves" when they put on a few and lots of people embrace them. Then, they go on diets and it's the same thing! People embrace the new figure and that get more publicity. If they were so happy with their figures (none of which were overweight), why did they go on diets? Not a very good example.

A size 8 is a healthy weight for her I am sure. She looks good and she looked good before. I am sure she feels better now though because she probably dropped about 20-25 pounds to get from a size 14 to a size 8.

It is a healthier weight for her. Its not just about her looks, it is about being healthy. At a size 14 she probably was pushing the scale as far as being outside of her "healthy" weight. At a size 8 I am sure she is right in the middle.

Other than her light hair, she looked great before.

Bingo!:thumbsup2

Abosolutely!!!!! She says she's happy at a higher weight and then goes on a diet anyway. No one goes on a diet if they're happy with thier weight.

I think she looks great in both pictures..

I like her "natural" hair much better. She looked washed out in the before picture.

I think she (her body, not her hair) looks great in both photos. :thumbsup2

She was not overweight to begin with.

She said on her show that she decided to eat healthy with her friends as in it was a competition/challenge. Not really going on a diet to go on a diet.

Nothing wrong with eating healthly. :thumbsup2

I see little to no difference, except she appears to have no breasts in the after picture. And I don't care for her outfits, neither seem to do much for her, although the gold dress does make her girls look great ;)

She was happy with herself before, was she? So happy that she felt the need to diet and then does a big public reveal? That's a great model there. Love yourself and then change to suit the whims of the public because it turns out you're just not good enough if you're not skinny. And I highly doubt she was a size 14. I'm a size 12 and I guarantee my body looks nothing like Tyra's "fat" self.

GEESH! The girl dropped a few pounds and looks good. Why the public stonings??? Because she said she was happy with herself before means she had to stay overweight for the rest of her life????

I don't see that much difference between the two photos.

Also whatever size she's supposed to be now isn't an 8. I'm rounder than she is but I can slip into a 6! She's skinnier than me!

Exactly how I feel.

The article says it was 2 years ago that she said she was happy with her weight. She probably was.

How do we know she lost weight because she feels her self image is tied to her weight? It really doesn't sound that way.

My self image is not tied to my weight but I do need to lose a few pounds. It is simply the truth.

She doesn't look too skinny. She looks healthy, strong and fit.

Kudo's for her for being a little healthier.

I just don't get why people are getting upset. She did something good for herself.
