Finishing my packing for our departure in the morning. DH is NOT a dress up kind of guy. Will it be okay for him to wear khaki's and a polo shirt or will he be completely out of place?

He will be fine. On our 4 day cruise, less than half the men wore jackets to Tritons.

You will be fine ... it is very common just to go in a polo and dress pants. No one will say a word (even on the 7 day cruise but it tends to be more formal)

One dad and son had shorts and tees on our cruise last weekend at Triton's (at least they were in the minority).

We just got back, I was going to bring a jacket but opted instead to just bring a pair of Dockers and a golf shirt. Didn't feel out of place, though next time I will bring a dress shirt. And a Jerry Garcia tie. I am not much for dressing up, am lucky to have a job where I can go to work in shorts and Tshirt. Until it gets a little cold for shorts!

OK, dumb question from someone that lives where it will be very cold in January....are the evenings so warm that a sweater is too heavy?

All the people around us every night were wearing shorts and tee's, my DH was wearing Khakis and a button down shirt, we were in the minority.:-(

Wow, it's surprising to hear that many were wearing shorts to Triton's, or any of the restaurants for that matter. That's unusual.

LuvsTink, the ship is air-conditioned. If you want to wear a sweater, you'll be comfortable. Depending on the weather, you may decide to remove it when you're out on the decks.

Kahki's and a polo are more than adequate. Jacket is definately not required unless you are going to Palo one night..otherwise, leave the jacket at home.

Is it bad to wear shorts- is there some kind of DCL guideline that discourages it?
am sure my DH will wear long pants to Tritons but if shorts are acceptable he and DS may want to wear them to Parrot Cay.
Should they or shouldn't they?

Anybody? I am entering the cruicial but puzzling packing stage- any input appreciated.

Mary, Congrats on your trip coming up so soon! We're leaving for WDW (pre-cruise) in 13 days ourselves!

In answer to your question, on both the Magic and the Wonder, under suggested evening attire, DCL "requests" no shorts or jeans in the dining rooms in the evenings. In general, the majority of people on the Magic tend to follow that guidance. On the Wonder, it tends to be a little more casual. So if they want to wear shorts to Parrot Cay, you wouldn't be following the guidance, but they will allow you to eat. You probably wouldn't be the only ones in shorts there either.

Hope you have a great trip. Feel free to pm me if you have any questions you think I could help you with. We took a Wonder cruise in Jan 03.

Hi Lisa!!! Thanks- I thought that was the case but this thread surprised/confused me. Wow- 10 days on the Magic- I can't wait to hear about it when you get back.
