Weather wise, that it. Supposed to start raining this afternoon, rain most of Saturday and Sunday with highs only in the mid to upper 50s. Memorial Day itself is supposed to improve, partly sunny and 73F.

It seems more often than not we have lousy weather for Mem Day weekend.

Yeah, it's fouled us up to. We have a BUNCH of trees to plant and I think we will be doing that in the rain!

I was supposed to go down the shore for a couple of days, but my sister was afraid I'd have a gall bladder attack so I can't go anyway. But usually that's where you'd find me this weekend. Now my sister and her husband will be stuck in a motel room watching the rain hit the pool.

We have a big play date planned this afternoon with my grand kids and some of my sister's grandkids. Of course it's rainy, windy and cold. :cold:

Same exact forecast here in Western MD. It was beautiful and sunny this morning,,temp was up to 69. Its fallen to 66 now and the rain is just starting. Temps in the low 50's tomorrow..down to 43 tomorrow nite. 55 on Sunday with more rain , down to 44 at night, and then 71 on Monday (when I hope to get my tomato plants in and the cuke and squash seeds planted).

I hear you on that one..I have tomatoes to plant and squash and cuke seeds to plant, but I will NOT be doing it in the rain!

One of the gals in the office just left to head your way, they have a cabin up there and I don't think they are going to have the greatest weekend!

Normally we would being going to Cedar Point and the waterpark all weekend but there is a lakeshore flood advisory right now and it's 50 degrees. We may try to go for a little while tomorrow just to get food. Sunday looks a bit better and Monday we're doing the waterpark even if it is only going to be 70.

Miami weather is good (hot and humid, but not like it will be in September), but we have a Bad People Alert in effect for Miami Beach.

Every Memorial Day, South Beach attracts a bad crowd (worse than Spring Break), so here's what they are doing:
  • All causeways and entries to Miami Beach reduced to ONE lane, and tag readers will be in operation. Tag readers tell the police whether a car is reported stolen, and also whether the registered owner has any outstanding warrants. I'm not sure if it gives criminal history, but using the info they do get, they could easily run a criminal history check.
    • This will cause huge backups, and hopefully persuade bad actors to stay away.
    • On the bright side, it will lead to some good arrests.
  • Traffic in South Beach is re-routed in a loop pattern to relieve some of the congestion. It will actually probably increase congestion.
  • 300+ police officers from other agencies have been brought in to help, and all MBPD officers are working 12 hour shifts with no days off. They'll have 500-600 police officers in a small city which usually only has about 100 on duty at one time.
  • Interior roadways are closed, so all traffic must go north and south on only 3 roads...two of which will be one way. In order to get into the interior streets, you have to show proof of residence within the closed areas.
  • Last call for alcohol has been moved from 5 AM to 2 AM on Ocean Drive and Collins Ave only
    • This is a stupid move because it's just going to move people a block west at 2 AM to an area where some pretty sketchy bars are located...and also into the residential areas.
    • Hopefully, it will also move them into the nicer areas like South of 5th and Lincoln Road, which will cause this bad idea to blow up in the posturing politicians faces.
  • During the day on the weekend, they are presenting a massive military air show as a salute to the military, and also as a deterrent to the criminal element. But not many people are going to sit in an hour-plus tag reader line, lol.
It's going to be a fun weekend! But it will be nice and quiet where we live.

My high school seniors are at MKW at a hotel down the shore with many of their classmates. Nothing like cold and rainy at the beach! We have t had cold and rainy in weeks now.

Yep, crappy here in NE Ohio, our club pool was set to open today, they've pushed that to Sunday, but even Sunday & Monday don't look like pool weather to me, low 70's. Wishing I'd have booked the cheap tickets to Orlando when I saw them a month or so ago. Going to be a lame weekend here.

I own a rental house in Ocean City, NJ and people are booked to arrive tomorrow. After a brief clearing on Monday the rest of the week doesn't look too promising either.

I hope they don't expect a refund. ;)

We have a 40% chance of rain on Monday, but I'll take it gladly. We haven't had any rain at all since early April. And not much before that.

Same crummy weather here in Cincy. Of course last year when we couldn’t do a darn thing the weather was great.

I wanted to maybe get in Kings Island on Sunday or Monday, but after seeing two weekends with fights (last weekends was horrific) I’m waiting to make sure KI gets their security and law enforcement beefed up. 🙁

Yep -- South Florida has two seasons: WET and dry. We are at the tail end of dry season right now, although Miami looks like not much rain for the next 10 days. We're supposed to be close to 50% on Tuesday, but the rest of the 10-day forecast looks like mostly 25%-30% if that.

Charlotte and Lee County both have had more rain than Collier.

It is literally dumping down the rain. Someplace called St Mary's out to the east just had a tornado warning. Mother Nature is not going to give us a nice weather weekend for sure! The only good thing,,the rain has shut up the cicada's,,lol!

it's rainy, windy and cold.
Strangely enough it's the same here. The pools open on Memorial Day weekend, but the high temp for the three days is only 68. That's not bad, but it sure ain't swimming pool weather.

Just FYI, 68 is sweater/jacket weather in South Florida. Anything below 65 is big boots and ski parkas for locals..."nice" for tourists who will be loving the beaches.
