we are cruising for the first time ever, on any ship, in May 2016. I'm curious to know what a typical day looks like? We are only doing a 3 day cruise and I'm wondering about how are days will play out and how much we can get done. Should we spend more time at the pool area or do more stuff on the ship itself.

On a 3 day cruise, I'd say it's hard to pick a typical day. One day will be CC, right? Do you have another stop? Or I think it's a sea day? It's very little time. You have to pick what you are interested in. To have a pool day, you just need to be motivated to get up and be poolside earlier rather than later if you want to sit very near the pool. Then commit to staying poolside as long as you wish to do that because you aren't supposed to save seats or leave your stuff there while you do something else. I like to spend a couple days on the upper deck laying in the sun, having cocktails and listening to didn't movies on the funnel vision. If i had one sea day, I'd probably be more doing ship activities, exploring, shipping and seeing the whole ship. It just depends!

On a 3 day you will not have a sea day. You will have one day in Nassau and one day at Castaway Cay. If you do want to stay on the ship on your Nassau day you could make this day your "at sea" day and enjoy the activities onboard. The pools are usually very crowded but will be less hectic on Nassau day. We usually skip the pools entirely and leave our swimming to our port days. You will have plenty of time to swim at Castaway Cay.

LOL. Never found time to use the pools in our 7 days on the Magic. Too busy doing wine tasting, and shuffleboard, and basketball, and movies, and Disney Trivia. We easily spent an hour a night around Midnight on the Bow the ship in front of the windscreen watching the stars, the sea, and the lights of the islands in the distance.

I was thinking maybe just use the pool for a little bit each day, like an hour, then just enjoy the ship itself. It's only 3 days and we can swim to our hearts content at the land portion of our trip.

1. Relax you are on vacation and you do not want a vacation from your vacation when you get home.
2. Since you are going on the shortest cruise, you will NOT get everything you want done.
3. The PP about checking out the Navigators, is a very good idea.
4. Do not plan your time down to using/being busy every minute of the day.
5. Did I mention relax.

That's one of my favorite activities! I'm always surprised how few people are up there with me. That's one great thing about the cruise: there are so many different ways to do it. While I'm up front at midnight watching the sea going by and wondering about the people that insisted on getting tucked in early so that they don't miss the 8am shuffleboard tournament the next morning, I'm sure they're equally wondering about why I'd just stand around doing nothing on the deck and pass up all the great activities on board. Both are the right answer, and neither is the only answer.

Love the eating agenda above! Lol!

My family and I recently did a 2 night cruise on the Wonder and we spent our day at sea just enjoying the ship. I woke up early and got my morning run in on Deck 4, followed by breakfast. The kids went to the kids' club, and my husband and I just relaaaaaxed. The loungers are truly excellent for this. We loved just enjoying the view of the sea and sky passing by. We picked up the kids for lunch, and then they enjoyed trick or treating and the Halloween party with characters (it was a Halloween on the High Seas cruise). We got a little hair and makeup appointment for my daughter, which she loved, and then the kids went back to the kids' club for a while, which meant more relaxing time for the husband and I, just wandering the ship. Shopping, coffee, putting down a deposit for our next cruise... after a while, we picked up the kids, took pictures with Minnie Mouse, ate dinner, and then enjoyed the evening'smain stage show.

It was so much fun and so relaxing! If we hadn't had the Halloween activities, we might have tried the pool. Next time!
