typhoon lagoon

* Get there early to get some beach chairs.

* Do the slides in the morning and when it starts to get more crowded, do the lazy river and wave pool.

* Don't eat lunch around noon when everyone else does- we did that last time and couldn't find a seat to sit down at and eat.

* Do the Shark reef snorkling- its really fun.

* They sell these really yummy donuts at a stand at TL, they make them fresh right at the stand and are covered in cinnamon/sugar- I think it was like $3 for a dozen. They make a yummy snack. -Steph

Watch out for the bottom of the wave pool. It's very rough if you take a fall. It will skin you up something terrible. My scraped elbow and keen is still healing from our trip last week. Have fun!!!

If you have kids, bring a couple of extra adults. I really couldn't relax because there are so many things for kids to disappear behind. I had to constantly watch my 2-year-old. The only time I relax was when we were out of the water.

Get there early. Later in the day, at least when we were there last week, there were always thunderstorms in the late afternoon and they might close the park if there is lightning.

Be prepared to have a blast!! We stayed all day, during our trip last Sept. I was sorry we saved TL for the last day.

If you buy the kids lunch, you get a bucket and shovel for digging in the sand. Skip breakfast & eat lunch about 11am.

People advised wearing water shoes, but I walked around the whole park barefooted w/ no problems. Maybe in the summer the walks will be hotter.

Also, there is a great little "shack" near the shark reef which sells pearls at really good prices. ;)

All of the above, plus don't forget the SPF 50 waterproof sunscreen- and apply it regularly. We were there 4 times during our 2 week trip (got home 6/18), and I would suggest you get there at 8:30 for the 9 AM opening. We got there then and a lot of people were already lined up at the rope.

Get your chairs first, then go back for towels/ locker if you need them. If you are staying a long time, get a refillable mug.

Blessings :)

I would do Shark Reef as early as possible. Less crowded, they don't hurry you across, and the water is so clear. Have taken great underwater photos.

Later on besides being crowded - the water has stirred up the sediment and it is not nearly as nice to look at the fish. My later photos came back more murky. I really was not enjoyable the second half of the day.

Do the lazy river, its excellent! I did it for 2 hours in my last trip when I went alone and it was heavenly! I would definitely recommend water shoes, specially in the summer months (and any time for that matter, I hate walking around barefoot! LOL) And the wave pool was also great but be careful with little ones, the waves get very high and are very strong, stay closer to shore if you have little ones. Have a great time.
