Hi, This is our first time to Typhoon Lagoon so please excuse any silly questions. We have only been to one water park...White Water in Atlanta. We are the type of people that just continually walk the park and don't use the lounge chairs. I will only be taking the waterproof necklace inside the park. We will have towels in the car if we really need them. Some people at White Water wore their water shoes for everything they did. I was wondering if this is allowed at TL or if you think the water shoes are really necessary. Also, since I am not exactly a thin person..could I wear a Tshirt over my bathing suit all the time....I saw this also at White water. I know that it is not recommended to go to the water parks at the end of the week because of crowds. Friday is the only day we can really fit it in...would it really be that bad if we arrive at least 30 minutes before it opened?

Thanks for any info!!

We usually arrive a couple of minutes before the park opens and have had no problem find a lounge chair. I always wear a t-shirt (more for the burn factor) and we take towels to hold our seats. We also wear water shoes-the pavement gets extremely hot in bare feet. I think your plan sounds fine-it's almost exactly what we do.

You can wear your water shoes on/in most of the ride/pools. Disney makes you take them off for some of the slides and you must hold on to them. With out shoes the cement is very hot. and the wave pool and the lazy river will wear out the bottom of your feet very quickly. You can take your own towels or rent theirs. We usually rent a locker to stash our towels and clothes in.

We always take a waterproof camera to catch the kids/sights on and they will take pictures underwater too. we have some great pictures of the water parks, just remember to buy it before you get to disney (3+ times as much as walmart).

We always take our own towels. The "free" towels are on the small side. Also the water shoes are a must! The pavement is extremely hot and the attractions are quite spread out. Take plenty of sunscreen and re-apply often. We always take a beach bag with us and, although we wouldn't leave money or anything really valuable in it, we have never had a problem with people messing with our "stuff". It's a pain to walk up to the locker area each time you need a hair brush or more sunscreen. If you "stake out " a few chairs and leave your belongings there, no one seems to bother them.

I think the tee shirt idea is great! Others on this board will tell you about my experience on May Day Falls @ TL. LOL To make a long story short, make sure your swim suit is secure before you ride any of the slides!!!!

Have a wet and wonderful time!!!!

Your may day falls story was w/ me when I went shopping for my new swim suit last week. Knowing DS and I were going to a waterpark this trip. Kept thinking of all the ways the suit could be "desuited", and would pass on those.
