We have never been to Typhoon Lagoon and will be at Disney 8/20-8/26 and are trying to plan.

What rides are a must for a thrill seeker and what rides are good for a non-thrill seeker?

Does anyone have an idea of what the wait times are like in the 2nd half of August?

Does the shark pool get really crowded, is the amount of time spent in it restricted?

Any suggestions are welcome!

There is a mild drop slide & Crushin Gusher. Everything else (save for the wave pool) is exremely mild. Shark Reef gets a little busy midday, and then should clear back out.

Thanks! Do you also know if you can wear water shoes on the slides or do you have to take them off and leave them?

slides on which you cannot have water shoes. I just hold mine in my hands as a slide down.

When you do the shark reef, you enter at one end of the pool and and slowly swim towards the end. There is a scuba experience that costs around $20 and lasts about a half hour.

I love TL. I dont remember names of rides but over to the left of the park is the gusher rides, three of them. These are the best. You do get air time on these. The shark "swim" seems to get long lines because they only let so many people in plus they want to make sure everyone has their equipment. Water is very very very cold at first. Then over to the right of the park is the tube rides. You have two small tube rides and then the large family tube ride. You have to bring up the family tube (and the small ones) by yourself. The family ride is ok but the small tubes are pretty lame. Don't know much about the little kid area cause never had to use it. Then they have the slides. Three slides go off in the same area and they are pretty much all the same. Very fun. Never did the one slide that goes straight down but ds did and same one as all other parks. Then you have the wave pool. When the wave comes and you are in the shallow area, watch out because the rip tide might make you fall. then the best part of the park is the lazy river. I can stay on that all day long.

Water shoes can stay on at all times.
