Ok, can someone clarify something for me? I thought I had read on previous postings that they were switching the rehab schedule this year and closing BB instead of TL during Christmas. Because they were doing some adding on to BB. But now I see the hours are out and they are the same as last year. What gives? We go every year at the same time (the two weeks before Christmas) and we never get to go to TL. Then we hear that great news and now this..............:( Am I confused  Or haven't they made the change yet? Any thoughts?

Well Lailah,

According to Disney's website, as you say, TL is due to close for it's refurbishment work on December 14th, and if the time scheduled for work to be done at BB is anything to go by, could be closed all the way thru to the end of January, hopefully not.

I'm going over to Orlando with my lot on Boxing day, so it will be closed while we are there too. I've not been to TL, so I was hoping to try it instead of just going to BB for once. My partners' kids have not been to WDW at all, sowe hoped they'd get the chance to try both.

Oh well, if we're lucky Disney may have posted the wrong schedule, but I kinda doubt it. Never mind, dont let it spoil your anticipation, you'll stil have a top time I'm sure.

(I'm sure me and my lady are more excited about the trip than her boys... sad or what ?) ;)

There is usually only one water park open during this time.

Have fun!

Typhoon Lagoon normally closed first, in Novenber and December, and Blizzard Beach closed in January and February. This year, BB closed in October and November, and TL closes in December, probably for several months, as they are expanding the park, adding several new rides to it. So either way, if you go every year in December, you get BB (not that that's a bad thing; it is bigger than the current TL, with more/longer slides, etc., but I understand wanting to try a change of scenery!).

Typhoon Lagoon is my favorite water park, so I'm a little dissapointed that it'll be closed when I go in January. We're ready to brave cool temps for some water park fun. Maybe it'll be nice to go to BB when it's not 100,000 degrees! It certainly was steamy in May, with the sun beating from above and reflecting off the snow banks, making sure we got evenly baked all around :p TL is easier to enjoy in the heat because it has that wonderful thing called shade!
