I'm trying to decide if going to Typhoon Lagoon at the end of September will be worth it, so I'd like everyone else's opinion. What's the average temperature?

Hot - have bee there 2x early Oct and it was till in the 90's.

Looks like this year Mid-Oct is still in the high 80's so Sept should be warmer.

It's in the 80s-90s in September. Definitely perfect water park weather!

We go to TL nearly every day on our FD trips which are usually late Sept-Early Oct. It is our favorite thing to do!!!

Late September may be early fall in the rest of the country, but it's definitely still summer in Florida. ;)

Temperature you ask? The thermometer on our last week of September trips has just given up and read "the sun". Water park tickets are a great addition. :thumbsup2

We went in Oct last year, and tho we were sun-burned in no time, I was never warm enough to feel comfortable.

Agree with the above. Waterparks in September are not a waste! Even if you have a heavy downpour, it's still warm enough to walk around and you usually get wet there anyway. I did remember to take a plastic bag for our towels last time though so at least they were dry when we needed them, but totally worth the add on to a ticket.

It will feel refreshing!!! We have been many times in September and TL is a must!!!

Hot and often "empty". We go every September trip to the waterparks and have a blast :thumbsup2

Just adding one more "go" to the long list. It was so hot when we were there this past September, I thought we were going to melt into the pavement! :rotfl:

DO IT!!

Unless we get a freak storm that cools the weather down. It's summer in Florida in late Sept/Early Oct. The coldest I've had up in Orlando was mid-50s a few years ago towards the middle of October. Since then, I've been up two times over Sept/Oct and it's HOT.

The average temperature here in FL in late September is hot. Go. Have fun! :thumbsup2

Yes, definitely go! It's HOT in September! We were there this past September, and couldn't wait to get to the waterparks! :)

I was just thee Saturday. The water is heated so that is never a problem. In September it is more than warm enough outside and there are less people. August was terrible, just soaking a a big pot of people stew... saw all manner of things floating on the water. Kind of gross.

Planning a trip for beginning of September. Thinking of taking the Water Park Fun & More option. I wanted us to spend the mornings at the park, jump over to the water parks for the afternoon, and then grab dinner and evening rides back at a park. Would this be a good plan, or is September too busy in the water parks because of the heat ? Also, would you avoid doing this on the weekends / is the attendance higher during the weekend ?

Thanks in advance :)

Well, the past four years we've been there roughly the last week of Sept. It is hot. and humid. hot and humid. hot and humid. :) Yeah, hot and humid, but we love it. The pools still feel great at night, and it's a nice break as things are just starting to turn colder up here in Michigan

2010 - average around 88 degrees
2011 - average around 93 degrees
2012 - average around 89 degrees
2013 - average around 86 degrees

No, Sept is very low crowds, in the water parks too. The only concern I would have with your plan is all the time taken up by getting to and from point A to B to C to.... :)

A couple of things to consider:

September often has afternoon thunderstorms. If there's thunder/lightning (or a chance of it) close by, they would probably temporarily close the waterparks. It's one reason why I usually go to the waterpark in the morning - plus low crowds/short lines in the morning!

Check the park hours for September. They usually start closing the main parks earlier starting in September due to low crowds (kids are back in school). So keep park closing times in mind - if a park closes at 7:00 or 8:00, it will limit what you can do in the evening.

I was under the impression (from our travel agent) that you can't hop from parks to water parks. I hope I'm wrong, but you might want to double check that, or someone on here might know....
