As you all can see in my siggie, my trip is coming quickly and we are planning to go to typhoon lagoon. I just have a few questions...

1) when is the best time to arrive?
2) what slides/attractions are a must see?
3) Is the shark reef really that fun?

thnx you guys! :goodvibes feel free to not stick with the questions and share overall experiences, we've only been to blizzard beach so my only idea of typhoon lagoon is on the old beach party sing along tape! lol

If you think the park is going to be busy go early in the morning
all the slides there are must sees
shark reef is awesome :hyper:
have fun on your trip!!

We've only been to Typhoon Lagoon once and my parents have been to Blizzard Beach once. We went to Typhoon Lagoon in the afternoon on a very hot day (we get parkhopper) because it's so nice to cool down.

We really didn't do much when we were there. We only went for about 2 hours. We did the wave pool and Crush-N-Gusher.

Haven't done the Shark Reef yet..

Have fun on your trip! I leave Tuesday!!

1) arrive when the park opens or the earliest you can. usually right in the mornings the lines aren't that long compared to mid-day
2) crush n gusher, shark reef, wave pool, humunga kawabunga (spelt that wrong), lazy river
3) i think the shark reef is pretty cool 'cause you get to see all the different fishes and sharks, but sadly it's short

its a really cool place, it offers a different experience than blizzard beach. you'll have a blast with whoever you're going with!

1. Right when it opens, a lot of people will still be in line buying tickets and you can get on anything extremely quickly.
2. Crush'n'Gusher is really fun and Humunga Kowabunga is amazing. The wave pool is the best one I've ever been in.
3. I'm personally not a huge fan of Shark Reef, but I hate sharks, so that has a lot to do with it.

the shark thing is fun. i had to go in it all alone cause' my cousins were chicken. it was quite interesting. when we went to typhoon lagoon it was around like 11:00 or 10:30 and i thought that they were both good times. all of the water slides and the water coaster are fun.

but...

i almost DIED in the wave pool. me, being small, can get thrown really far by the wave. i was super up close to the wave and i went all the way back to the concrete area. i was scared to death to go back in. so... i didnt (=

If i had a choice i would just not go to typhoon lagoon and just go to blizzard beach. it has a much better lay-out.

but my must see thing at typhoon lagoon is crush n gusher it is the best thing there. the shark reef is super cool but the water is pretty cold.

Have fun!:goodvibes

Personally, I think the wave pool was the best thing in Typhoon Lagoon. That is my moms favorite thing in all of WDW. Crush n' Gusher is also fun. Never done the shark thing. Slides are okay. I like Humunga Koowabunga better than Summit Plummet. Just my opinions!

1) I love getting there really early and getting a place to sit and put our stuff. Then, of course, running off to the big rides. The extra magic hours are great, too.
2) The new coaster ride is really cool, along with the wave pool, shark reef, etc.
3) The shark reef is so much fun and really realistic, but cold.

1) when is the best time to arrive? Mid-afternoon because by this time, people are starting to leave, making lounge chair seating available in better spots.

2) what slides/attractions are a must see? THE WAVE POOL, Storm Slides, Crush n Gusher, Humunga Kowabunga, Keelhaul Falls, Gangplank Falls, Mayday Falls, and Castaway Creek (Lazy River).

3) Is the shark reef really that fun? Totally! It was amazing, but its $20 per person.

I love Typhoon Lagoon!
The wave pool and shark reef are MUSTS! Do the shark reef first thing in the morning because then the lines get LONG!
Also humunga kowabunga is fun...so is the lazy river and the family tube ride. I haven't done Crush n' Gusher yet (this august I will) but that looks great too!
Have fun!

I like TL a lot better than BB.

1) when is the best time to arrive? To me, its crowded all day so there isn't much of a difference when you show up.

2) what slides/attractions are a must see? THE WAVE POOL, Storm Slides, Crush n Gusher, Humunga Kowabunga, Keelhaul Falls, Gangplank Falls, Mayday Falls, and Castaway Creek (Lazy River).

No it's free with your park entry

Oh ok yeah that's true. But just to swin across you get the snorkal mask and stuff for free to use.
I hope you didn't think I was attacking you I just didn't want people to get the wrong information :)

My favorite thing to do at Typhoon Lagoon is as follows;

1. Buy huge refillable cup, and fill it up with icy diet coke.
2. Find a nice comfy area at the beach right in front of the wave pool.
3. Float around lazy river, twice.
4. Put on swim cover up and sunglasses.
5. Lay in the beach chair, staring up at the palm trees, and listening to the beach boys play.

^ heaven.

Around 8-9:00 is a good time...depends on when it opens!

The family raft ride (fuzzy on name) is fun. Crush 'n' Gusher is supposedly really fun, too.

YES!! It's really cool. The fish and sharks are RIGHT THERE! It's so cool. Some swim around your feet, and you might (accidentally) touch one!
