I feel like I'm posting questions all the time on here!
But here’s another one. My DB loves the water parks so we’ve allowed for a day at Typhoon Lagoon in our itinerary.
Will it actually be warm enough to spend half a day or a day at TL? I know a lot of the Americans don’t think so, but we British are used to perishing temperatures! Especially me living in Newcastle!!!
What does anyone think? Is it warm enough?

I think we have the same DBF!!!

I have the same thing in January. We have planned it into our itinerary but as soon as we get a "warm day" we will change things around to go to BB that day.

I've never been in January before and I've read a lot of posts on this, but we'll be spending the day at BB come hell or high water on our trip so I reckon you just go for it.

We've been known to be at the outdoor section of the Alton Towers waterpark in the snow before now so I don't see why this should be any different!!

Hiya
I'm another one going in January, and I like other hard Brits will be braving it and going to BB, i have also booked DC so it best be lovely and warm on the 15th Jan, I don't know what the weather is like in December, I went in Nov 04 and the weather was gorgeous, so as long as your itinary is flexible i would say your first warm day head for BB in case it is your last (warm day that is!). I have just read a few reports about weather in Jan, one scared me by saying that they had to wear hat, scarves and gloves (not what i was hoping to ride the Coasters in! Bobble hats will be flying everywhere). Seriously, i have read a few positive reports, so i am optamistic for jan, so you should be ok in Dec.

Take Care

Ive been to the waterparks in the first week of December and it was baking hot and I got very sunburnt!!

If it's a nice sunny day you should be fine at TL during the middle part of the day. Early morning and once the sun starts to go down it may be a bit chilly :)

We've had lots of nice days in the first two weeks of Dec. when it would have been hot enough to go swimming or to the water parks!

Thanks everyone! :thumbsup2
I shall pack my swimming costume! :sunny: Although I have a feeling we’ll be there even if it isn’t warm enough!

Im there in December too and im definately going to be going to Typhoon Lagoon! Im just going to wait for a warm day!

We are there Dec 1st - 15th and want to swim with sharks. Heres hoping the weather is warm enough for all of us! :thumbsup2 :cool1:

We are going 2nd-11th December and definitely want to try to go to TL. We love it there :thumbsup2

I definitely recommend going in December, but depending on the temps when you are there you might want to choose a day when the shine warms up enough :)

When we were in WDW in Dec 2004 there were a lot of days that were definitely not water park weather. We went twice on the warmer days and it was lovely and quiet (literally us and five other British ;) families there (hardy, you see :teeth: ) ). It was too cold though after a couple of hours and we bailed out much earlier than I would do in warmer months.

As fool hardy brits, if your staying on disney use the early entry option.

If your first in as we were in December last year you become the "Big Kahuna" for the day

you get free towels and locker as well as free large refillable mug (soft drinks) and your own dedicated space overlooking the lagoon

plus if it's your first time a guide tour

worth going on a cooler day (to floridians anyway)

because there were only about 20 people in the park that day and it was in the mid 60s they closed at 2pm which was the only downside, but hey we had 4 1/2 hours of fun

Les, that sounds brilliant. I never knew that happened!
