Is Typhoon Lagoon really closed on may 11,12,13! What is the reason for this? Now I will have to change my schedule:mad:

Same here. I don't understand how they only have one park open on the weekend, but both parks on Wed and Thurs. Weird.

Same with us...I am SooooooMMMMMaaaaDDDDDD!!!!!

I had my PS set and everthing!!! I know in the grand scheme of things this is minor...however, it is a major PITA!!!!

Just a quick question....where r yall getting the hours?
Thanks!

To ilovefh, you can find the hours at wdwig.com under operating hours

Thanks! I didnt know they were there! I always check disneyworld.com, but they aren't up yet. Which was killing the planner in me! (Although I promised not to plan anything this trip, which is also killing me!)

The water parks being closed was a surprise- TL closed the beggining of the week, and BB the end. We have to do both, because it's the one thing my BF is really getting excited about. I'm just worried the parks'll be more crowded if only one of them is open at a time.

I thought Lagoon always went down in the winter season for a little bit.

Yeah in the Winter...but come on May is hardly winter time especially in Florida!!!I just don't get it...Soon there won't be any slow time at WDW b/c they are just going to do so many cutbacks that we are all going to be Crammed into what they want us to do.

okay i know i am still mad...just venting...thanks!!!

I'm wondering if it isn't for parties.

Drat, now I can't go to Typhoon Lagoon at all on this trip.

One thing I did think of though....if you are planning to go to TF or BB, try to do it on a day that they are BOTH opened, otherwise the day that only one is open will be packed. Right? just a thought.... Sorry for you Nala...
Tracy

That's what I was thinking, but the only day that would work for us is on our last day. I am considering it, but I think it would wipe us out too much for the trip home. Then I have to drive another 2 1/2 hours to get to the house after we land at the airport at 11pm. Waterpark + airplane travel + drive time = exhaustion, and that isn't a vacation. I'm not getting too disappointed yet. It can all change by the time we get there.

I can understand cutbacks but cutting back a waterpark on a weekend?

Don't tell me that the locals aren't filling up the parks on the weekends? The economy may be poor, but I don't think that will stop the locals here in NJ from going to Six Flags, so why would that stop the locals in Florida from going to a water park??

It's starting to not make any sense........:(

I totally agree with you... being only 3 hrs away, I have taken my kids on a spur of the moment trip, esp to the waterparks, plenty of times. Things may change...lets hope

I also wonder if it could be for private parties. The company we are under contract with has rented TL for a day in the past.

I seen that happen too, but if you check disneyworld.com, this schedule is for the entire month of May. Looks like cut backs to me. I totally agree that the locals do use the waterparks during the weekend and other times and CMs too, since they get in for 50% off. Sometimes they even offer FL, special discounts too. If that happens, it will be crowded. And May is very warm and the water parks are very popular. Been going in May for 10 years in a row. With Flower and Garden festival and Star Wars weekend going on during this time, I think we are going to see lots of crowds.

Looking back through posts and hours I now believe this is due to cutbacks also. There have been many cancellations of trips and rooms the past few weeks.

All I can say is...I'm completely disgusted. This Stinks!!
